Etymology

The name Cryptosporangium derives from:
Gr . adj . kruptos, hidden; Neo-Latin noun sporangium , sporangium; Neo-Latin neuter gender noun Cryptosporangium, an organism with sporangia (spore containing vessels) covered or hidden by mycelium.
