Đura Brničanin also spelled Djura Brničanin (Serbian Cyrillic: Ђура Брничанин; Ottoman Serbia, c. 1775 - before 25 March 1806) was a vojvode of Podgorske nahije and among the first to join Karađorđe against the Ottomans and participated in the "clarion call to arms" with other prominent Serbs (Pavle Cukić, Radič Petrović, archpriest Filip of Gornja Brezova, archimandrite Melentije Simeonović Nikšić, priest Nikola of Mrsać, and Duke Radosav Marković Jelečki) in their respective region (okrug).

In a short period, all the villagers in the hamlets in Pazar nahija, along the upper Ibar, Jošanica, Rogozna and Podgorje, took up arms against the long-reigning Ottoman Empire in the Balkans.. The advance of the Christian insurgents was inevitable during the Holy Days of 1805-1806. The first battles were long and costly, particularly the Battle of Deševi where many Serbs fell victim to Turkish cannon-fire, including voivode Brničanin.

Three years later, after successfully preventing the Turkish encroachment, Karađorđe withdrew from the sector of Novi Pazar with the main part of the army in 1809 and hurried in the direction of Deligrad to prevent the Turks from consolidating their forces.
