Isaac Cobo Displas (born in 1975) is a Spanish architect and academic at the University of East London.

Education

In 1996, Displas enrolled in the Industrial Design Engineering program at Elisava Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona to become a product designer.

In 2003, he started formal architectural studies at the Architectural Association School of Architecture. He relocated to the University of East London in 2005, under the guidance of the architect Peter Salter. Under the mentorship of Mark Hayduk, Displas completed his master’s degree.

Career

During the early 2000s, Displas contributed to projects at Murray John Architects in London. He played a role in the restoration of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in King's Cross, while serving as Creative Director at the Mahattan Loft Corporation (MLC). In 2008, he co-founded Cocoarchitects alongside Daniel Coll, focusing on the blend of ecological consciousness with creativity, often expressed through computer-generated analysis and visualizations.

Displas has been serving as a Senior Lecturer in Architectural Design at the University of East London since 2009. His pedagogical focus centers around fundamental architectural principles, with a focus on environmental consciousness, spatial ambiance, and the significance of lighting and shadow.
