German archaeologist and prehistorian (1939-2005)
Konrad Spindler (1939-2005) was a German archaeologist and prehistorian , best known for his work on the Ötzi mummy. He studied medicine and anthropology in University of Münster between 1961 and 1965. He studied at the University of Freiburg between 1965 and 1970. At Freiburg, he studied prehistory under Edward Sangmeister [de ]; provincial Roman archaeology under Rolf Nierhaus [de ]; and paleoanthropology under Kurt Gerhardt.
Konrad Spindler is portrayed in the play Mnemonic .
