Ashcroft was a native of Parr, St Helens.
Career
Ashcroft has been regarded as one of the preeminent pre-World War Two women's footballers and an important part of the Dick, Kerr Ladies side which transformed the sport. In total, Ashcroft spent fifteen years playing St Helens Ladies FC and the legendary Dick Kerr Ladies.
Style of play
Ashcroft mainly operated as a full-back.
