Offuman is a town in the Bono East Region of Ghana. Offuman, which is pronounced by the natives as "Fuman".
It an ancient town in Bono East Region in the Techiman North District of today's Bono East Region of Ghana. It is located at the north-western part of Techiman, 21 kilometers from Tuobodom. It also lies 13 km southwest of Wenchi.
Offuman now has a population over 9,277. The king (Omanhene in the Akan language) of Offuman in the 18th century, until the 1930s, was Dikro Nana Kwame Ankomah FUMAN/Offuman hene/Chief. In reality Asona hene was the only Chief in Offuman those days. Asona hene save Nana Ameyaw, Bono hene for many countries as Asona hene in Techiman Palace as Chief executives with his Brother Nana Benkum hene of Techiman traditional council (Techiman Forikrom hene). After Dikro Nana Kwame Ankomah passed away, his nephew continued as the next Chief. Now, nephew of Dikro Nana Kwame Ankomah has succeeded Nana Kwame Gyamfi Kumanini, He ruled during the Gold Coast time until 1991 when he passed away. His nephew Nana Yaw Boahen Gyan became the successor when he (Nana Kwame Gyamfi Kumanini) passed away in Offuman Bono East Region. It's was Nana Kwame Gyamfi kumanini Chief of Offuman and Asona hene of Techiman traditional council who bought Police Station to Offuman, due to the people of Offuman attitude in those days. Nana Kwame Gyamfi kumanini became a hated Chief to Asantihene when Aduana priesthood families came to settle in Our land. Although Nana Kwame Gyamfi kumanini declared, He Offuman hene and DAMPAASO ROYALS can not save Asantihene, instead of Techiman hene is alive, it is for bidding. Nana Kwame Gyamfi kumanini Chief of Offuman said that, because Offuman is under Techiman traditional council, Nana Ameyaw Techiman hene own Offuman land and it's people's. After all, Nana Ameyaw Techiman hene is the one who made Nana Kwame Gyamfi kumanini and the families a Chief of Offuman traditional area. So, Nana Kwame Gyamfi kumanini families don't want to betrayed their King. That is why He didn't accept Asantihene in those days. Later the pioneers of Offuman, i meant, Asona ROYAL was arrested by Asantihene and changed everything in Offuman history. Instead of royal by birth, Asantihene replaced Chief priesthood families ( slaves in Offuman) to rule as Chief. This happened, in 1930s Otumfour Opoku Ware time. Since 13th century up to 1930s OFFUMAN has one Chief, that is Asona hene Dikro Nana Kwame Ankomah and Nana Kwame Gyamfi kumanini and Queenmother was Nana Yaa Kromo Kuma II. So Offuman DAMPAASO ROYAL is the real Chief of Offuman traditional area. Asantihene is fake, he hate Offuman and Branam, Nwoase, Nkyeraa, Tuobodom, Tanoso,and Bouryam. because this towns stand in difficulties for Techiman traditional council for life and dead .
In the early days, the only elementary school in Offuman was the Wesley Methodist School. The school is a second cycle institution.
