Sahowala is a town in Sambrial Tehsil, Sialkot District, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies between the Upper Chenab Canal and the Marala-Ravi Link Canal, both part of the Marala Headworks project. The town has one of the largest Union Councils in Sialkot District, with a population of approximately 20,000, including six neighbouring villages.
The local economy is primarily agricultural. Sahowala is near the Sialkot Tanneries Zone, an industrial hub.
The town is home to the Minhaj-ul-Quran Islamic Library and to Noor Mosque, which features the tallest minaret in the Sialkot District.
The literacy rate is 30%. The female literacy rate is about 25%.
Location
Sahowala is 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) southeast of Sialkot, and 33 kilometres (21 mi) west from Wazirabad.
