Manit Joura is an Indian television actor who made his Bollywood debut in Yash Raj Films' romantic comedy Band Baaja Baaraat in 2010 and was recently seen in Love Shagun (2016)[2]. He has also been part of some hugely successful television shows.

Early Life And Background

Manit was born on July 1987 into a Punjabi family in Delhi[3]. He has a younger sister named Kanika Jaura and a brother Himanshu Jaura.

Manit always aspired to be an actor, participating in several school plays and debates. After completing his studies, he joined a professional theater and been a part of plays like Rakht, Abhishekh, Itihaas and Virasat.

Career

Manit Joura started his career as a model and took part in the Gladrags Manhunt Contest in 2008. Not only that he was one of the finalists, he even went on to win a couple of sub-contests. He was a Brand Ambassador for Brunch Magazine for about four years and was a regular at ramps and was a part of a lot of prestigious fashion shows. He has been associated with brands like Godrej Hair Color, Wrangler, etc., and was also a part of the 'Ungli Uthao Vote Karo' campaign where he was seen along with John Abraham.

He was earlier seen on television in the Star Plus reality show, Aaja Mahi Vay where he partnered Manika Dandha. He is known for his sensitive portals in the television shows like 12/24 Karol Bagh (Zee TV), Ram Milaayi Jodi (Zee TV)[4] and Bejoy Nambiar’s Rush on MTV India.

Manit made a smooth transition from television to films[5] with his debut in Yash Raj Films' Band Baaja Baaraat directed by Maneesh Sharma. He even got an opportunity to work in a German film titled The Girl With The Indian Emerald directed by Michael Karen[6]. He essayed the main lead in Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan on Star Plus[7].

He was last seen in film Love Shagun (2016)[8]. He has always taken up social causes and was recently the face of the Don’t Drink And Drive 2015 campaign, an initiative by the Rotaract Club Of Mithibai College.

Personal life

He has trained himself in Martial Arts, Tai Chi, Parkour, Horse Riding, Swimming, Automotive Stunts, Aiming and Sword Fighting, and is a proficient gymnast. He is passionate about riding and recently went on a road trip from Chandigarh to Leh and from Mumbai to Kerala.
