Takhti Khel is a union council (and a group of villages of the Shabaz Khel Tribe, leading tribe of Takhti Khel) of Sarai Naurang Tehsil in Lakki Marwat District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (previously known as NWFP North-West Frontier Province) province of Pakistan. It is located at 32°48'51.2"N 70°41'48.7"E and has an altitude of 292 meters (961 feet).

Takhtikhel lies close to the borders of North Waziristan, an area known for its rugged terrain and tribal significance. The village is part of the rural areas of Lakki Marwat, which is characterized by semi-arid conditions, vast plains, and hilly surroundings.

The area is predominantly inhabited by Pashtun tribes, including the Marwat tribe, which is one of the largest in the region. Agriculture and livestock are common means of livelihood for the local population. Due to its strategic location, the village has a mix of cultural and tribal influences.

Late Abdul Ghafoor Khan (one of the prominent figures in Lakki Marwat politics) served as a district counselor of Takhti Khel from 2015 to 2018.  Renowned for his bravery and unwavering dedication, he played a pivotal role in supporting and uniting the people of Takhtikhel. Ghafoor Khan was always available to his community, offering guidance and assistance in every situation, whether during times of peace or adversity. His selfless leadership and commitment to the welfare of his people earned him immense respect and admiration, leaving a lasting legacy in the region.
