The Benjamin Britten High School is a High School located in the northern outskirts of Lowestoft, Suffolk, England. It caters for approximately 800 students aged 13 to 18 (years 9 to 13). It is also home to a sports training centre open to the public. The acting Headteacher is David Park.
The school was completed in 1979 and was expected to last for 30 years. Several attempts to replace the buildings have failed in recent years although the site is expected to be subject to a major redevelopment due to the "Building Schools For The Future" scheme.
In 2008 the school was designated by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) as a specialist school in Mathematics and Computing College.
Benjamin Britten is a part of the Lowestoft sixth form consortium with Kirkley and The Denes High Schools. However this will change with the completion of the Lowestoft Sixth Form College in September 2011.
