Maksym Masnyi (born June 11, 1991) is a Ukrainian military officer with the rank of colonel in the National Guard of Ukraine, a participant of the Russian-Ukrainian war, commander of the 22nd separate brigade for the protection of diplomatic missions and consular institutions of foreign countries “Kyivska Rus” within the National Guard of Ukraine.

Biography

Military service began in 2007. In 2011 graduated from the Academy of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, in 2021 obtained a master’s degree from the National Guard Military Academy of Ukraine.

Since 2014 engaged in tasks for the elimination of illegal armed formations and subversive reconnaissance groups, taking part in Special Operations Forces combat operations in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation Zones. When the large-scale Russian invasion began, led combat operations as the commander of the BTG.

Progressed from a platoon commander to brigade deputy commander at the Offensive Guard.

Since October 2023 has served as the commander of the 22nd separate brigade “Kyivska Rus”.
