Deletion summaries

Hi, I have noticed that you often provide only a very short abbreviated deletion summary when you delete pages (like "a7" "nn-bio" and similar). Please keep in mind that most users do not know all of Misplaced Pages's speedy deletion criteria by heart. Please consider providing a brief "plain English" explanation without relying exclusively on "CSD jargon". Additionally linking to the relevant criteria so people can read it in full can also be useful, for example ]. This will help a "layperson" better understand why something was deleted when looking at the deletion log.

Most browsers have a autocomplete or other "form filling" features that allow pre-prepared boil plate texts to be inserted into web forms with just a few keystrokes. This is useful for inserting detailed deletion summaries without having to type out the same things over and over. Please consider looking into it. Thanks. -- Longhair\ 10:09, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

If you want a free bit of advice, using wiki features only, try this... find an article (take a nn bio for example, there's plenty of them to experiment with :-), edit the article and add the required {{db-bio}} tag, then click preview, but don't save. In bold along the top of the template you have your deletion summary. It works for me ;) -- Longhair\ 10:36, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Deleted Page

A page titled "Michael Malvasio" was recently deleted by you. I just wanted to take a screen shot of it, just to have, and then you can delete it again. Can you please put it up for 1 more day, so we can take a screen shot. That would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for any inconvience we have caused you. An External Link On Veronica Finn's Page

An IP user has added as an external link to Veronica Finn. Although it is a link to a realestate site apparently run by Veronica Finn, is it considered a commercial link? The link actually helps verify some of the information in the article, so I'm wondering if the link is okay or not. Should it be removed? -WarthogDemon 04:19, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice, but I disagree about those pages being nonsense articles. This is a shared account, it is from a school, and people can't go to the create account screen or log in screen, it's picked up from the schools web blocker, there are Some people that have contributed to Misplaced Pages in a proper way. I Am Not Sure If I Am Being Reckless

But can you delete Kayla (Orca)? The article had been recently created, then had a db tag placed on it for already having an article at Kayla (whale). It was then changed into a redirect to the second page. I'm thinking it'd be best to have Kayla (whale) moved over there, for consistency's sake. I actually just now noticed that the correct page is Keiko (orca). That being said, is it alright if I just change it into a redirect to that page, and then move the Kayla (whale) page to Kayla (orca)? -WarthogDemon 06:54, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
