ITN recognition for Joël Robert
On 14 January 2021, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Joël Robert, which you nominated and updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. Spencer 15:28, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
Please
do not post on my talkpage. Thanks. Lugnuts 13:53, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- I don't check who created pages, so I have no idea which automatic messages will end up on your talk page. You are free to remove them of course. Fram (talk) 13:54, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- What part of "don't post on my talkpage" don't you understand? Please stop it. Lugnuts 13:57, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- Then stop the automatic message.
- This has to stop honestly both of you. Lugnuts your edit summaries are uncivil and Fram he's asked you to stop posting to his page. Happy to partial block if this is simply an automated edit issue. Glen (talk) 14:04, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- AfDs are done. Objecting to automatic messages after mass-reverting edits is a bit off, and the edit summaries should lead to an immediate block. Wiching people to "DIE" as "scum" because you get a bunch of automated talk page messages is a serious loss of perspective. Fram (talk) 14:06, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- Eek I didn't see that just the F off summary which caught my eye. Glen (talk) 14:09, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

Just witnessed all this. I'd be interested to know how to switch off these notifications. Whenever I've AFD'd things, I have to add a manual message. Is it a problem with Twinkle? The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 14:15, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- Twinkle has an option to notify the creator or not. Usually, it is considered good form to notify the article creator. Not all these articles were Lugnuts creations, so I couldn't simply drop notifications for this batch. Why getting notifications for some 10 minutes is such a big deal is not clear. Fram (talk) 14:18, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, my guess is that after being asked to stop posting auto-notices to Lugnuts' talk page, that should have been enough to check that Twinkle wasn't going to do it again and again. But that's my best guess. Shame it had to turn rotten. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 14:45, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- All. Apologies for what happened and what I said earlier. Maybe it's just me who gets frustrated when someone is asked nicely not to post on my talkpage, but continues to do so (12-15 times or so). When you're trying to work on something else and all you see is wave after wave of red-dots/orange bars, it's distracting to say the least. I've said it before to other editors, I have no issue with anyone nominating any article for deletion. I'm not going to comment further (here) on my stance about thos AfDs - what's done is done. I'm now going to try and save some of those from the bin/redirection. I don't know how Twinkle works, as I've never used it, but maybe there's something that can be done to change the settings. And maybe working from home for the past 8 months or so has finally got me to the point of cracking! Again, all I can do is offer apologies (or "Apple Logies" if you prefer...). I can understand if the involved parties aren't happy with that, but I'm sure we'd all like to crack on with bigger and better things. Thanks. Lugnuts 16:24, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- Your apologies would be more believable if you dropped the snark otherwise, e.g. in this edit summary, and removed your attacks in the AfDs. Fram (talk) 15:10, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

Blanking of pages
Blanking of pages by converting them into redirects, without merging their content anywhere, is pure vandalism, even if sources are inadequate, as they often are. You should start an AfD and notify the creator. Moonraker (talk) 07:56, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
- Bye, stalker. Feel free to raise my "vandalism" at the admin noticeboard or at WP:AIV and see how far it will get you. Fram (talk) 07:58, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
- You have a bad habit of personal abuse, which in my humble opinion you need to stop. That would clearly be another matter for complaint. Moonraker (talk) 08:00, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
- You can add it to your ANI complaint. Fram (talk) 08:02, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
- See Misplaced Pages:Civility. I am not a Wikilawyer and do not want to be pursuing you through formal complaint processes. Better if you can listen to others and behave reasonably. 08:06, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
- You know that falsely accusing editors of "pure vandalism" is a personal attack? And that stalking an editors edits is not really a good example of civility either? Perhaps first read the relevant policies before accusing others incorrectly. Fram (talk) 08:16, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

Élise Masson
Thanks for having a look at this page. Now, the references exist in Catalan from which the article has been translated (and a bit from the French one), just, they have an unusual system of linking the refs to the body of the article that I haven't yet deciphered. Or should said refs be hand-copied one after one into the core of the article ? Your help would be appreciated.
Also, is there a consistant and "mandatory" rule regarding the use of italics in the title of films, operas, books etc. Everyone seems to do as it pleases. Same for portals. I seem the only one to indicate them in my output. Thanks. LouisAlain (talk) 16:50, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
- No problem. The page clearly had enough references, just added in a strange way. I now understand why, but I think you (or anyone wanting to help) should better add them as regular refs in the body of the article (or at least some of them, those that reference most things or add most information). As for italics in titles, I have no idea actually, I know we have some manul of style pages about this, but I don't really remember when to use italics, when double quotes, ... In references, the templates do that for you, but in running text this is of course harder. Fram (talk) 16:57, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
- I will give my standard advice about this sort of thing: If you cant remember if there is a particular MoS method for italics (or other formatting). Dont worry about it. Just do it whatever way and a gnome who does care about these things will be along shortly to tidy them up. There are very few occasions where type formatting (italics etc) has any impact on the quality of an article. So dont waste time worrying about it. If someone corrects it "per MoS", they are probably right and just let them get on with it. Only in death does duty end (talk) 17:32, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
- OK, thanks to both. I'll try to add the refs one after one in the hope it will work. Apparently it will take some time. LouisAlain (talk) 18:43, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

Bach
We can't help that Francis Schonken and Mathsci are the two key contributors for Bach, and assuming "following around" is not exactly good faith when all it takes is a watch list. We three have the same articles on our lists, believe me. You are invited to watch over BWV 1, which I nominated for FAC because it was Misplaced Pages's birthday, and now I'm in the middle of the conflict which is no fun. BWV 4 comes to mind, - no good memories. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:58, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
Sad to see a new discussion at WP:Great Dismal Swamp. Mathsci didn't edit between June 2018 and June 2020, and was sooo relieved when he returned. Removing an "in use" template seems no violation to me, - it doesn't change the content. There was even a discussion about abuse of the template. (I have never used it. When I heavily edit an article, I may warn on a user talk page.) I have suffered several major editing "sprees" by FS, worst Stabat Mater (where he in the end removed the infobox, - he must be aware that it would hurt me, and instead used a picture I took, which hurt me more, - I don't know if he was aware of that). I try to stay calm but sometimes I scream anyway, and then can't stand myself for having fallen to bait. My pov. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:56, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
- Imagine that you and FS had an interaction ban. You are writing or expanding an article, and add an "in use" tag. And who comes around to remove it? FS! It doesn't get much more clear than that. It doesn't matter whether the removal is correct or not, it is the kind of edit you should never make against someone you have an Iban with. It's not some kind of vandalism, BLP violation, which can't wait; the only intention and result is to annoy the user you have an Iban with, and to let them know that you are watching their edits. It doesn't matter if one is a better editor than the other or not, I don't care: the community has decided that they were both problematic and that they should leave each other alone, full stop. There are 6 million articles, Mathsci starting editing one FS has edited 10 times or so over the past day is just harassing him. Fram (talk) 15:02, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
- I confess I have imagined to have an Iban with Francis ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:11, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
- I blocked him in late 2018 for 1 year, so it's not as if I am his biggest fan :-) Fram (talk) 15:17, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

2023 Indian Rajya Sabha elections
Hi... you changed the tense on this article (and thanks for that), but didn't think to remove the somewhat premature 'results'? --DoubleGrazing (talk) 17:53, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
ACArt + errors
Hi Fram. Not sure what the difference is between this and the Authority Control template, but when you do a preview on an edit where ACArt has been added, it comes back with lots of red errors. Stuff along the lines of "Warning: Page using Template:Authority control with "CANTIC", please move this to Wikidata if possible (this message is shown only in preview)." and so on. Don't know if it's a temporary thing or not. Ta. Lugnuts 17:55, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks.I had raised the same issue at Misplaced Pages talk:Authority control#Template:ACArt created, without any response so far. I'll bring it up again some day, to see whether these preview errors can be disabled. They are in reality warnings, not errors, and for ACArt (and other similar templates one might make) they are unwanted anyway. It should probably only be shown when you add an alternative value to the Wikidata one, not when you suppress it completely (which is what ACArt does). The difference between ACArt and Authority Control isn't always visible: it prevents a whole series of authority control links with no value for these articles on enwiki from appearing, so e.g. Gerard David goes from 19 links to 13 (and we could probably drop another 5 or so), and Pablo Picasso goes from 41 links to 19. Basically, keep the mildly relevant stuff (for enwiki) and remove the clutter (which is still available at Wikidata). Fram (talk) 21:13, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
- The warnings have now been removed thanks to User:Tom.Reding. Fram (talk) 13:47, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
Template:ACArt replacement
Might better require a regular bot run, as the normal authority control template is still being added to articles, including art-related ones. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 21:32, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- Problem is that I tend to skip over a few articles here and there, which are e.g. about people who are artists but more prominently something else, and so the ACArt template might not be the best fit. Not sure that a bot could do better. Fram (talk) 21:45, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
Career statistics
Why you want to delete all these career statistics pages? So many players have them! JamesAndersoon (talk) 15:53, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Too many players have them. Federer, Williams, Evert-Lloyd, Borg, Navratilova, ... fine, perfect pages for people with remarkable statistics which get as such attention. But that doesn't mean that the hundreds of less stellar players also should have statistics pages. Fram (talk) 15:55, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Agree, probably you right about CiCi Bellis. But why Shelby Rogers? She already few years on the WTA Tour, three Grand Slam quarterfinals, played against so many top 10 players, earned money etc?? JamesAndersoon (talk) 15:56, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Never won a tournament, never reached the top 10, has no really remarkable record against any top player, ... While she is a better player than Bellis, it still is nothing exceptional. There are probably by now a few thousand players (male, female, doubles) with a similar record over the years. Fram (talk) 15:59, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- And 90% of them already have pages! Understand you, but that's the reason why CAREER STATISTICS exists to made statistics about someone's career. JamesAndersoon (talk) 16:01, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Uh, no. Perhaps 5% have pages, and most of these have been created recently. Pages should only exist because they are about a notable subject; a subject which has received considerable attention. There has been much discussion about Federer's record-breaking number of Grand Slam wins, or Serena Williams' efforts to do the same, or Nadal's 100 wins at Roland Garros, or... Who has ever discussed the statistics of Bellis or Regers? Probably some minor comments in an article about her, but really as a separate topic of interest? Fram (talk) 16:22, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Do we create only pages for extra-ultra talented players and only for players with records and top 10? You can't compare Bellis with Serena for example, because Serena is one of the best with results and Bellis is rising player. It's ok that people take care more about Federer or Serena, but it doesn't mean that other players doesn't have chance to be recognised. Otherwise, better delete 90% of pages because they do not win at least 10 Grand Slams. Quite unfair. JamesAndersoon (talk) 16:27, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Bellis, and Rogers, and all these others have a page. They are recognised. I am not proposing to delete their pages at all, and would oppose this if someone else started an AfD. But that doesn't mean that we need a separate, second page specifically for their statistics. Fram (talk) 16:42, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Career statistics delete
@Spiderone:, @Fram: I bring back all significant from CiCi Bellis career statistics and Shelby Rogers career statistics to their main pages. I'm wondering what do you think about some of these ones:
- Veronika Kudermetova
- Petra Martic
- Jennifer Brady
- Ekaterina Alexandrova
- Christina McHale
- Polona Hercog
- Lesia Tsurenko
- Aliaksandra Sasnovich
- Zheng Saisai
- Zarina Diyas
- Wang Qiang
- Barbora Krejcikova
- JamesAndersoon (talk) 19:22, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Diyas probably warrants a separate article just because of the fact her page is quite long so adding the stats back might make her article too long. Not sure about the others. Martic might well justify one on her career achievements. Spiderone 20:15, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Question to why you move article to draft
Before I start, wanting to say I move Cancellation of Dr. Seuss back to article state. RS on both political parties are talking about it being cancelled. The title isn't "extremely slanted" as that would be calling multiple RS including NBC, AP News, ABC, Fox News all slanted the same, which they aren't. Also the article was mentioned on the Portal:Current events. Please be careful before moving articles to drafts without discussion as it can have format errors on other pages. An apology
Hello Fram. Hopefully you can forgive me for all the problems earlier. I made a mistake and I fully understand what I did and I accept the ban. Not even going to try to fight it for at least a few months. Hopefully you won't hold a grudge against me once the ban is lifted. I want to try to make amends with all the editors I have had problems with over the next few months so I hopefully can sorta "start fresh" today and build a good reputation over my ban time so I can resume constructive editing after it. So in short, will you forgive me and not hold a grudge? Elijahandskip (talk) 23:43, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, no problem. I would urge you not to "fight" the ban at all, it expires in 6 months: if you would try to get it overturned sooner, it will only worry people that you will start with the same kind of problematic edits again and haven't learned anything. Just stay far, far away from anything even remotely connected to recent American politics for 6 months or more, and afterwards try to edit gently and neutrally. And, well, turn of Fox News, or at least don't trust them on anything (apart from sports perhaps). They present a very slanted view of the world, of facts, of politics (but also healthcare and the like). A popular one, but not a reliable one. (Please don't respond on these Fox issues, as that would be a violation of your topic ban, sorry!). Fram (talk) 08:15, 3 March 2021 (UTC)

Osomite
I don't believe this is a violation of WP:POLEMIC, but I think it's only fair to let you know that Osomite has included you on their list of editors to "check out", here, along with myself, Slatersteven, and Drmies. Beyond My Ken (talk) 23:13, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. No idea why they singled out this group of editors, perhaps admiration :-) In any case, I have no problem with a list of interesting editors as long as there are no attacks attached to it. Fram (talk) 08:43, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
Objection to Deletion Request

I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
tag from ], which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think this article should be deleted, please do not add {{proposed deletion}}

Request regarding de-tagging article on List of vice presidents of India by longevity
The article List of vice presidents of India by longevity had been de-tagged by a user, but it was re-tagged by you mentioning me to find some reliable sources with significant attention for the longevity of Indian vice presidents. I agree that the sourced added in the article verify the dates and now I need to find certain sources with significant attention for the longevity of Indian vice presidents.
The article is about a notable topic, and both the President of Indian and Prime Minister of India have articles on same topic (List of presidents of India by longevity and List of prime ministers of India by longevity), without any single reference or source. Also the same article on List of vice presidents of the United States by age has only a single source.
I would ask you to kindly tell which which sources are reliable, as the sources which are added include the official website of Vice President of India (https://vicepresidentofindia.nic.in/homepage) and Rajya Sabha (https://rajyasabha.nic.in/).

Instead of completely removing my pages, just put templates on them
I've seen far worse articles that exist on Misplaced Pages, the sources may not be reliable but that doesn't mean they should completely deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TableSalt342 (talk • contribs) 10:09, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Then these other articles need deletion or moving to draft as well. The quality of your articles, again and again, simply isn't acceptable for the mainspace. I've asked you to use WP:AFC instead; if you insist, I will start a procedure to make this a formal requirement instead of a request. Fram (talk) 10:10, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
More on my pages
I sumbitted Maiguori as a draft a few months ago, that was my first Misplaced Pages page and it was accepted a few months later, that would fit in your concept of a 'bad page', take this up with the moderators — Preceding unsigned comment added by TableSalt342 (talk • contribs) 10:12, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- No idea why that was accepted, as the single source didn't verify the information (how could it, a source from 2008 can't verify population figures from 2017 surely?). Moved back to draft. Fram (talk) 10:24, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
