Re: Not proxy

Not a proxy? Then how was I able to edit through it? Luna Santin 07:12, 12 December 2006 (UTC).

Can you give me a page with more information about the proxies and the problems in Misplaced Pages (i.e. help page)?. The problem with secure.wikimedia.org is that every time I edit I recieve the next message: "this page contains some insecure elements. Do you want to open it anyway ?". --Mac 07:24, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Sure thing. Probably WP:OP would be the best page for you to look over. Luna Santin 07:26, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Thank you. --Mac 13:40, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Celtic horoscope

The article you wrote, Celtic horoscope, is uncategorized. Please help improve it by adding it to one or more categories, so it may be associated with related articles. A stub marker or other template doesn't count - please put in an actual category in the article.Eli Falk 07:44, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes, it is a stub. I am improving it. You also can help. Regards. --Mac 08:09, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Please review the guidelines for minor edits. You added a lot of new content to Celtic astrology and marked it as a minor edit. Thanks. Rich257 09:54, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

It is marked as default. I unmark in next edits, if major edits. --Mac 10:04, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey Mac, also on the subject: Information icon Hello, I'm Fistful of Questions. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Pigman 22:16, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

I provide some sources in the page. But I was interested about the topic when I read an article appeared in Mujer Hoy (Paloma Navarrete, n 403, december 30th 2006).— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mac (talkcontribs)
As noted on the talk page, the links you provided (to blogs and quizzes) are not appropriate sources. Please read the article, and the links already provided in the article, which thoroughly explain and debunk the "tree horoscope". Thanks. --Pigman 19:16, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
What about the Mujer Hoy source ?. This is not a blog or quizze. And http://www.spiritproject.com/horoscope/celts/index.htm is not a blog or quizze. And there are a lot of other sources in search engines (try it). Perhaps there are some religious prejudices ? --Mac 06:54, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Domotics-stub

Hi - it has come to our notice that you have recently created a new stub type. As it clearly states at WP:STUB, at the top of most stub categories, on the template page for new Wikiprojects and in many other places on Misplaced Pages, new stub types should be proposed prior to creation at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies, and whether better use could be made of a WikiProject-specific talk page template.

In the case of your new stub type, it is already covered by existing stub types, and it does not the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type (in fact, the one stub marked with this template had nothing to do with domotics at all!). The stub type is listed for deletion at WP:SFD - please feel free to make any comments there as to any reason why this stub type should be kept. And please, in future, propose new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 05:55, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Before create and expand car glass, I included a Rhere in power window, a similar topic page (about electric car glasses). Including the Rhere message in the see also section of power window, near to the link of car glass, I indicated:
  • Car glass was a redirecting page (it included the command #REDIRECT power window).
  • When the car glass was a stub, one can eliminate the Rhere message (now, done).
  • One can expand now the car glass stub, i.e. including the types and materials of car windows.

Sorry, this was you

I just posted this on WP:AN/I. The note below that is an excerpt left on the talk page of the commons Bureaucrat I deal with from time to time, and as you can see, I've assured him that this string of nonsensical expermental edits will be fixed up. So the question is will it be by you, or me, who just happened to get all the email notices that this was going on. I'm really quite busy right now with mediations, edit wars, and hot heads and such, so I would really appreciate it if you go back to your contribs page (link below) and revert your experimental changes. As you can see, GeorgHH and I already fixed up two matters. The bottom two on the list, iirc.

I left you a note there to talk about this, so if these have some justification, please read commons:user talk:82.159.137.19 and drop an answer for me there or here on my talk. Template:II'll be quite interested in your answer. Failing that, I'm going to have to pick up these dirty socks, so please justify this, or do that yourself. Template:IAlso, please modify your user preferences to at least warn you when you are not leaving edit summaries. Not leaving those makes it hard for others to figure out what you have done with a quick peek, costing valuable time otherwise to evaluate the edit with diffs and such. That's a lot of time to ask for from a lot of strangers, so to speak, so please exercise that courtesy.

I didn't fully explore what you were doing in Misplaced Pages:Commons categories, but that page should be kept in an interwiki compatible state so that it is a direct byte for byte copy of the commons version, save for the disclaimer about that at it's heading. So revert those changes as well please. I haven't had the time to finish fully integrating the two yet.

AN/I post

As anom this editor left a series of edits that are definitely wide of being useful or desirable on the commons, so I thought maybe he would benefit from a little extra 'help and oversight' from solicitous admins. I'll nudge him on this and ask him to clean up after himself. Sigh. Just like getting my youngest to use the clothes hamper! Best! // FrankB

I left an request on the IP talk page {82.159.137.19) asking for a discussion. This, for example links via {{Meta|Categorical index}} to a non-existant page on Meta. Working bottom upwards in succession...Template:IThe first I reverted. It linked to non-existant Wiktionary pages.Template:IThis introduces a redlink category name that has some sensibility to it's meaning, save it is in the ROOT Category!!! Well you're clearly no newcomer, as you've been around far longer than me, but apparently you are a little young to be playing with commons categories, which after all are central to the hundreds of wikipedia's of all languages, and all the other wikimedia foundation Template:W2. But if you'd like to help there, David Kernow and I can use some help tagging categories there and here properly with the interwiki tags you were modifying. We're soon going to be resuming work on the maps project and such and if you've got the energy, you can make a real contribution giving us a hand. Interested? Feel free to ask for insights and assistance. I help a lot of people. Best wishes. Drop me a note when you've read this message. Thanks. // FrankB 06:53, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

re: The page in meta existed, but now It doesn´t exist. The idea is to use a similar category tree (specially for main categories) for all the Wikimedia Projects, not only for Misplaced Pages and/or Commons. How can one do it ?. --82.159.137.19 06:57, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Have you heard of the term 'Reinventing the wheel'? Well, the fundamental category system was already defined and discussed to death in Meta, the commons, and here, and is already a common skelaton for all sister's projects. The commons and several others for administrative reasons, or for the mission of the sister project sometimes add or subtract things from that, but the basic system is in place already. The best way to get a sense of it's scope is to participate in our own WP:CFD and WT:CFD pages and navigate our heirarcy. The commons is pretty fussy about adding new categories, so I wouldn't recommend that without checking with me or David Kernow. Adding a category here that is there already is a bit easier, but it is more likely that the proper action would be to find the equivilent category here and nominate that for renaming in CFD using the various {{Cfr}} templates. Template:IThere are similar talk pages on all projects. Meta's categories are fairly skimpy, as are wikinews', and wiktionary, which is focused on word things like nouns, adjectives, verbs, etcetera. Wikispecies is oriented to the ultra-scientific, and etc., so defining what cats a project needs are and have been determined by the folks working the project.

However you stumbled over the experiment of commons:template:WikiPcat1, since you modified it, and had you poked around a bit more, say by following it's cats, and then the link to the equivilent cats here, you might have found the complimentary {{Commonscat1Ra}}, among many others. One big task that needs done is to identify the subset of templates which are the minimum needed, and fix up the order in which they take arguements, with some options. I wrote those back when I new far less about templates, and they need an overhaul and to be streamlined. If you are good with templates, that would be something I can use help with. Large scale tagging of categories after that, could be undertaken including sorting work in applying the newly defined top-down category scheme for maps from the commons fully into place here. That was David's project, and we're really only about 30% along on it. I wrote those templates based on it in fact. Placing those sometimes includes making some adjustments in the two category trees, after say renaming (moves actually) of the commons templates to more professional names. The commonscatXXX versions need similar renaming, again with the idea of being consistent with suffixes and such.

So that's the place to begin... after getting a commons account. <g> In the meantime, contact David, and ask him whether he can suggest some maps work here or on the commons. We've both been pretty busy since September, so things really have been on hold for a long while. How's that all sound? Oh, we'll be working up a project page to explain the scheme too. That needs done soon, as I've been nagging David about. Maybe he can let you start that. If you see his talk page on the commons, you should see me show up in June, iirc, and follow our conversations there between my talk page and his. That will give you a basic knowledge you can morph into a elementary project page draft, and we can all go from there. In the meantime, first make sure you fix those several contributions of yours, or that someone else has already done that. ttfn // FrankB 08:08, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
