==Arbitration Committee Elections December 2006==
I encourge my fellow editors to support candidates in the upcoming election who have demonstrated through their contributions and platforms to tighten our structures to foster high encyclopedic standards and quality over quality. Misplaced Pages has seen too many dedicated contributors driven off in frustration, having to fight over and over again to undo the damage of vandals and trolls. The following editors articulate a clear vision of Misplaced Pages's overarching goal:
*] -- ''I also think it is increasingly inevitable that the arbcom is going to have to get its hands dirty with cases that involve looking at content, and cases that involve trying to sort out the increasingly tangled knots of essays, guidelines, policy, and instruction creep that increasingly leads to messes .... Beyond that, I would apply the philosophy that I've demonstrated in my actions on Misplaced Pages - a high value on pragmatism, an eventualist mentality, a low patience for idiots, but a high tolerance for well-intentioned users.''
*] -- ''I believe that strong, good-faith contributors should continue to be given every opportunity to mend their ways. However, at present the arbcom is too lenient with troublemakers, especially those whose contributions are weak. This is unfair to those Wikipedians who have to deal with troublemakers, who are targeted by them, and who share their editing interests.''
*] -- ''I am a strong defender of precedent and policy, demand heavily on the use of reliable sources and oppose attempts to misuse Misplaced Pages as a platform for advocacy.''
*] -- ''Arbitration, like some other activities on our projects, takes a good grasp of policy and of the good of the project -- there are many different styles of judgment possible for an arbiter.''
*] -- ''The Arbcom should provide predictable and prompt decisions that further the mission of writing a free encylopedia.''

==My work==

I am a historian focusing on international political economy. Since joining Misplaced Pages in 2002 I have written on a broad range of topics in modern history. Some of the articles that I have written have ], such as ], ], ], ], and ]. I've also written articles closer to my area of specialization, such as the "]" ] and ]. In recent weeks, I have focused on rewriting important entries suffering quality problems for years, including ], ], and ].

According to the , I am a "stone ]" and a "hanger-on cabal member." In addition, according to notable fellow editor, my "lack of qualms about committing abuses is analogous to apologia for abusers (dictators and other authoritarian regimes)."

''I have nearly 4,000 pages on my watchlist. I don't have nearly enough time to address nearly all the problems I may spot on Misplaced Pages. For my own reference, below I'm listing various active contributors whom I've contacted over the couse of the past three years, receiving constructive feedback on issues realated to the subjects I edit (history and politics) and/or important AfD/Cfd/TfD/etc. discussions. (Don't be offended if I forgot you! I only quickly skimmed my talk page to refresh my memory in drafting this list.)''
