Newest of the four High Rises,'''Pavek Hall''' stands proudly on the scenic campus of ] (NDSU). The $3.9 million dollar project finished in 1987 and is located on the Southwest corner of the quadrangle of the high-rise residence halls. This Pavek nine-story tall beauty is one of the tallest buildings in the area. The hall boasts suite style living and an air cooler system to keep life comfortable in the warm months and steam heat to keep students warm when the winter hits. Each suite gets there own bathroom and shower. Average occupancy is around 280 students. Pavek has a mixture of freshman and upperclassmen as well as male and female residents. The residence live single-gender by floor and co-ed by "House." First floor has accommodating for individuals who require the assistance of a wheelchair, floors 2 through 5 are reserved for freshman, while 6th through 9th are mostly upperclassman. Pavek is also connected to the other four high-rises through tunnels that also connect to the West Dining Center and ACE tutoring. | |||

Pavek Hall received it's name in recognition of F. Leslie Pavek, Vice President of Student Affairs. Pavek was born in Grand Forks, ND on May 27, 1929. In 1952 he graduated from the ] (UND) with a Bachelor of Science. He then went on to earn his Masters in 1960 and his Doctorate in 1968 from UND. In 1968 Pavek was appointed Dean of Students. Then in 1974 he was appointed Vice President of Student Affairs. In 1990 Pavek retired after 23 years of service to NDSU. | |||

Meeting every Tuesday at 9:00pm, the Pavek Hall Government is an in-Hall organization that allows Pavek Hall Students the opportunity to exercise a voice in the development and direction of their community. Open to the Pavek Hall public, everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend meetings for both social and business related purposes. | |||
Each of the 9 floors are represented by at least 2 floor representatives. Additionally, 3 elected liaisons; one for each of the neighboring 3 Highrises (Seim, Sevrinson, and Thompson), attend the Hall Government meetings of neighboring halls and work to keep healthy lines of communication amongst the Highrise community. The organization is led by the Executive board, which consists of the Pavek Hall President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Residence Hall Association Representative, Dinning Services Representative, and the Programming Council Representative. The Executive board is consulted by the Hall Government Elder, a position held by a Resident Assistant. The Executive board is Advised by the Pavek Hall Director. The Pavek Hall Government contains three committees that are open to the general body; Hall Improvement, Public Relations, and Programming. These committees allow individuals to both exercise current skills in their area of passion and to further develop abilities in areas of interest. | |||
