Apexigod

"Apexigod" is the DeviantArt.com handle for user Michael Cody Sandefer. DeviantArt.com is an art gallery web site, dedicated to its users and allows them to showcase and display their works of art. Michael Sandefer is an "artist" in that community.

Michael Sandefer or "Mike-C" as he likes to be called, is 24 years old and was born 2/22/1984. Michael Sandefer is also an independant musician. Michael has a web site in which you can visit at "http://www.myperfectapathy.com". This web site is very rarely updated, so have a look but don't worry about bookmarking it.

Not a whole lot is known about this guy, except that he continually boasting about his ability to create original and unique musical sounds. "Mike-C" happened to produce a few songs with a very gritty Nine Inch Nails meets Alternative sound in early 2004. This also marked the first time "Mike-C" had made his music available to be heard online.

You can actually find a lot of "Mike-C"'s early work on Soundclick at "http://www.soundclick.com/pexifromda". Soundclick is a global music market web site where music is uploaded quite often in a multitude of genres and is home to a lot of beatmakers and DJ's.

A lot of people tend to criticize Mike due to his sometimes outrageous theories about life. Mike is an unconventional person with unconventional idea's about problems in the world and their possible solutions.

No one really understands this guy, and its not often an independent artist is met on the independent music scene that has such wild and crazy idea's about the life he lives. His music is often times met with warm reviews from friends, family, fans and critics alike. Although Mike may have a lot of indecisive and inconclusive theories about life, his music seems to be well received by the public.

Some critics have mentioned in the past about "Mike-C" and his promises to release certain albums and/or music. These critics were silenced on May 29th, 2008 when his debut album titled "The Depth of Madness" was released under the project name My Perfect Apathy This is a full length LP album that features 16 tracks, plus a hidden track with half hand-drawn and half clip-art artwork. The cover is very unique and is thought by some to be a lot of fun to look at.

That's all I have right now, I'll try to update this as I learn more about this guy.

I had to revert to an earlier version of the page, because an anon IP vandal deleted everything. Unfortunatley, this had the effect of removing your edit. Citations for My Perfect Apathy

Hi there. I came across your article on My Perfect Apathy and, while I recognize that you believe it meets Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, the problem that I and other editors have is that it reads like a press release (i.e., an advertisement) and the notability of the subject is not supported by evidence. I looked through all of your citations, and none of them mention My Perfect Apathy. If the claims in the article are accurate, you should be able to find sources that directly support them. I'll check back on the article in a week. If you are able to provide evidence to support the accuracy of the article and its subject's notability, great! I'm not part of some imaginary gang trying to deny you your "right" to be on Misplaced Pages. You have no such right, and that's not because there is a conspiracy against you – no such right exists for anyone. Misplaced Pages has rules for inclusion that you simply aren't following, and you're going to continue to have problems until you read and understand them (see the box on the right).

As I already explained, the most significant issue is that you're not citing your sources properly. Every link that you provided just went to the website of the source that you named, when they should have linked directly to stories about My Perfect Apathy. You should also rewrite the article so that it doesn't read like a press release. Nobody is allowed to use Misplaced Pages for self-promotion. Please see WP:RS and WP:V for Misplaced Pages's guidelines on reliable sources. IMDB, YouTube, and MySpace all constitute unreliable sources because anyone can edit or post to them (just like Misplaced Pages). To establish notability, a subject must receive treatment in multiple, third-party reliable sources. Also, since your talk page now identifies you as Michael Sandefer, you should really read Misplaced Pages's guideline on conflict of interest. Generally, writing a Misplaced Pages article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If the article maintains a neutral point of view and is cited with reliable sources, you may be OK. Otherwise, it is likely your articles will be deleted in short order. It's nothing personal; it's just the way Misplaced Pages works. Please let me know if I can be of more assistance. Being in a movie with Al Snow, while probably something I'd discuss over dinner, does not rise to Misplaced Pages's definition of notability. Per WP:N#Entertainers, an actor is only notable if he/she has:

1. Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television, stage performances, and other productions.
2. Has a large fan base or a significant "cult" following.
3. Has made unique, prolific or innovative contributions to a field of entertainment.

I know you are also a musician. For criteria regarding musicians' notability, see WP:MUSIC. I don't believe your article will meet that threshold either.

I know you consider it "in your best interest" to have a Misplaced Pages article. I don't mean this as harsh as it's going to sound, but Misplaced Pages doesn't exist for your best interest nor as a promotional tool for your career. The community has decided what rises to the level of notability for inclusion and what does not. Those decisions were made long before I started editing, and I don't often participate in discussions to change them. I just try to abide by them and ensure others do as well. If you'd like more guidance, you could post your questions at the village pump for assistance, but to be honest, I expect that might only result in the article being tagged for deletion that much faster by someone more aggressive about policy than myself.

Regarding reliable sources, IMDB is not a reliable source, as I mentioned before, because it can be edited by anyone. The radio station's YouTube videos might be considered because they are "published" by the radio station. Still, my gut feeling is you'll need something besides those (a major magazine article, newspaper article, write-up by a mainstream, third-party web site, etc.) in order to consider the article properly sourced. Even if it is properly sourced, remember that it may not meet the notability guideline and may still be deleted. Acdixon 13:09, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

"The Amplifier" and the radio station web site are more likely to be considered reliable sources than anything posted so far. Regarding my confusion regarding IMDB, I was told it could be edited by anyone; I don't use it much myself. Regardless, I tried to source an article with it one time and was told it wasn't a reliable source. Take that for what it's worth.

Remember, being reliably sourced is not enough. The article's subject (i.e. you) have to meet Misplaced Pages's notability requirements. I think that's where you're going to run into some problems. I'm not saying you aren't notable; I have no basis from which to make such a judgment personally. However, according to Misplaced Pages's criteria, you may not be notable. Again, I'd refer you to WP:N and WP:MUSIC. Also, by virtue of someone adding the "autobiography" template to this page, I discern that at least one other editor is concerned about WP:COI. I have seen this scenario before, and it almost always ends up with the article getting deleted. I was tempted to slap a delete tag on it myself at first, but I thought I might try to educate you about Misplaced Pages's guidelines and perhaps gain a valuable Misplaced Pages editor.

Let me suggest this. Familiarize yourself with WP:N, WP:MUSIC, and WP:COI if you haven't already. Do your very best to ensure the article meets the notability requirement, is cited with reliable sources, and maintains a neutral point of view. When you are satisfied that it meets these requirements, post a message on the village pump asking other editors to review your work and ensure you've done everything by the book. As a show of good faith, declare your identity up front. One of three things will happen:

1. The other editors will agree that the article conforms to the guidelines. They'll congratulate you on a job well done, leave the article alone, and welcome you to the editing community.
2. The other editors will express their concerns about where the article falls short of the established policies. You will address these concerns with the help of (and hopefully, to the satisfaction of) those editors. You're out a little more work, but Misplaced Pages gets a better article and you get a little more wiki-education.
3. The other editors will express their concerns about where the article falls short of established policies. You will be unable to address these concerns sufficiently. The article gets deleted. As the article is now, this is what is probably going to happen to it anyway, although it may take a while for another editor to notice and tag it for deletion. This avoids the scenario where I leave it for now and you return in two months to find it gone without being able to figure out who deleted it and why.
