{{Re|Herpetogenesis}} Unusual and unexpected. Thank you. LouisAlain (talk) 16:41, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

More articles

Bonjour LouisAlain, since you created the page, please find more references for article Jacques Viret , , , . Best --DDupard (talk) 06:42, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello DDupard, long time no see. Thanks for the links. Generally speaking, I'm very bad at finding them. I didn't remember this particular article (already 4 years old). Hope you're fine. LouisAlain (talk) 06:52, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
DDupard. An now I've added the links you provided to Jacques Viret. Do you know that was a very Kantian move from you to offer these links without expecting nothing else in return (expect my gratefulness of course). See Critique of Practical Reason and Categorical imperative . Thank again. LouisAlain (talk) 15:21, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks LouisAlain, have a cool day!--DDupard (talk) 06:36, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Userpage

Hello LouisAlan, wondering if there is a typo on your userpage. We're all equal on Misplaced Pages save those who are more equals than the others, was it meant to be We're all equal on Misplaced Pages say those who are more equals than the other? Cheers. Lotje (talk) 04:31, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

I don't think so. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:39, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
Lotje: Gerda has it right Lotje, it really was what was meant (a ref to Orwell). And I seize the opportunity to thank you for your help when I'm stuck with the HTLM subleties which are far fom my abilities. LouisAlain (talk) 08:38, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
Oh, I see... wasn't thinking that far... . Glad when I can be of any help. Lotje (talk) 08:46, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt:, did I ever say thank you for your kind expressions of appreciation? If not, I do it now, ...humble and with much gratitude. Lotje (talk) 08:46, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
Please, no "humble" :) - LouisAlain: re Christoph Strehl, in case you wonder why I don't format the French ref: it's not for the attractive fact which would be a good DYK, but for one specific role in Paris which isn't even in the article, - no idea what these Germans do to us --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:01, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

Chimney

I noticed you commented overleaf on the English translation of La cheminée du roi René. It seems that "chimney" is widely used in English for this title, but there's a discussion on this topic at that article's talk page. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 13:25, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

Interesting conversation over there by apparently highly qualified participants. I confess I didn't have the curiosity to look at this article when I put the link to the piece on Youtube. I stick firmer than ever to my position: Chimney and Fireplace are blatant mistranslations of cheminée. Unfortunately there is no article in any other language (German would have been appreciated, and Italian as well as Spanish). Yet, the German article about Milhaud has a passage about the composer where I find: imaginären Szenen aus dem Leben des Königs René mit einer Prozession (Cortège). Prozession seems ok in German; at least it is no question of Schornstein nor Kamin. LouisAlain (talk) 14:20, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

August thanks

August songs

The fourth thanks in August go to you, for digging up so many interesting topics! My 12th today, DYK? I decorated, also for a birthday. Songs invite to more music, places, food and flowers (but looking at your production rate you'll have no time for such things). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:50, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

When I see a new message has arrived on my TP, I always feel a little worried that it's another notice that one my new translations has been sent to the draftpage but when I see it comes from you it fills my day with contentment. LouisAlain (talk) 18:32, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
... and that makes me content! ... we say "zufrieden" which has peace in it --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:22, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
Today: 2 interesting DYK (I think), sadly 2 who died (on top of 2 from Poland yesterday), and a concert in which Daniel Barenboim just played piano, - and afterwards he and the orchestra received last year's prize (pictured). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:03, 7 August 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for Tanz im August! Thinking aloud: IF that should go to DYK, it should be fast because it would make more sense in August than September. Help (if you and watchers think that's a good idea)? Needs references above all, and a bit of organising, - strange "lead" which has most of the info, instead of a summary. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:46, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

Today: Teresa Żylis-Gara, the second soprano to impress me on stage, died, - long live the memory of her beautiful singing, remembered with thanks. 28 August 2013 was a special concert day: look. After Hillbillyholiday gave me a tree. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:48, 28 August 2021 (UTC)

WP:AN discussion

I brought up some of your poor editing habits (including from today) in a discussion at the administrator's noticeboard, WP:AN#Fake referencing. You are welcome to comment there. Fram (talk) 15:50, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

At least you inform me as opposed to my close friend Boleyn (talk · contribs) who plays the white innocent dove and feigns to not understand why I occasionaly mention her on my T.P whereas she acted (very discreetly) so that I lost my autopatrol rights some three years ago. Didn't know what they were, didn't ask to be granted them, they were presented to me after 50 articles which I suppose were deemed in lign with this Wiki policy. End result: 4.500 articles have been added to the load of work of rewievers who of course haven't already enough to do. It's mainly John B123 (talk · contribs) who bears the brunt of the task. No later than 1 minute ago, Sagotreespirit rewieved my latest translation Wolfgang Anheisser (still in the stage of completion) and didn't find anything to object to.
And now I've wasted enough time answering your regular picking on me. LouisAlain (talk) 16:50, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

DYK for Paul Armin Edelmann

On 3 September 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Paul Armin Edelmann, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Paul Armin Edelmann appeared in the title role of Mozart's Don Giovanni at Opera Ireland in 2009, while his brother Peter took the role of Leporello? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Paul Armin Edelmann. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Paul Armin Edelmann), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Thank you for that one (influential in the city where I studied) and many many more! - For Omas gegen Rechts, could you please replace Monika Salzer - just a redirect as I see only now - by a shortened translation from de:Monika Salzer. DYK tomorrow. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:43, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

I'm currently in the process of translating de:Lorenz Cantador with its 27 references (I have a feeling that won't be enough). I'll fullfill your commission tomorrow if it's still possible. @Kusma: A German administrator is after me now.
