- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Misplaced Pages community is welcome.
Happy editing! Cheers, JBL (talk) 13:41, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Misplaced Pages, as you did at Scratch (programming language). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. 🦁⋆JennilyW♡🦌 (talk) 22:08, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
- How is it unconstructive? I was just trying to get my point across, i.e. that Scratch should have a radian version. Username142857 (talk) 11:36, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- Misplaced Pages is an encyclopedia: it reports what reliable sources have written about a topic. It is not a place to "get your point across". --JBL (talk) 12:53, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- But you don't need 'reliable sources' to know that Scratch doesn't have a radian version. You could just go there and see for yourself!
- Whether or not you are correct is irrelevant: Misplaced Pages's purpose is to be an encyclopedia, summarizing what reliable sources have written on a topic. Many things are true but have no business being in an encyclopedia. --JBL (talk) 15:27, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- If it's true, it doesn't make sense for it to *NOT* be in an 'encyclopedia', especially one of Misplaced Pages's size!
- No: there are trillions of true details about Pokemon that have no business being in an encyclopedia. The preferences of some random person on the internet about degrees and radians in operating systems, even if "true", have no business being in an encyclopedia. See WP:TRUTH and WP:NOT for more. --JBL (talk) 13:03, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- It would make sense for it to be in the article 'pokemon' wouldn't it? Username142857 (talk) 13:08, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- No: Misplaced Pages is not an indiscriminate collection of information. To be very clear: the problem is not that I am standing in the way of you adding this. The problem is that there is an extremely strong community consensus about random people adding their opinions to Misplaced Pages articles without sources. If I get hit by a bus on my way to work this morning, there will still be 0 chance that the addition you made will belong. Please, find some other way to contribute to Misplaced Pages. In a moment, I will share some links with you with suggestions for getting started here. --JBL (talk) 13:40, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- It's not an opinion, it's a fact. Scratch doesn't have a radian version. It is easily verifiable Username142857 (talk) 10:50, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

Edit warring BMI
Your recent editing history at Body mass index shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
