| You are correct. Normally YouTube links should be avoided. For example, you should never use YouTube in a citation. However, note this: ] says you should not link to social networking sites or user-submitted content sites "'''''except''''' for a link to an official page of the article's subject" and as long as this link follows the rules set forth in ]. Furthermore, one probably should not add a link to a page unless it adds something of value. I looked at McCurdy's YouTube page, and it did have a lot of content on it that might be useful for someone interested in the topic.
