| You are correct. Normally YouTube links should be avoided. For example, you should never use YouTube in a citation. However, note this: ] says you should not link to social networking sites or user-submitted content sites "'''''except''''' for a link to an official page of the article's subject" and as long as this link follows the rules set forth in ]. Furthermore, one probably should not add a link to a page unless it adds something of value. I looked at McCurdy's YouTube page, and it did have a lot of content on it that might be useful for someone interested in the topic. | Sorry if this whole issue is confusing you. I clarified this issue with ], who informed me that MySpace and other social networking sites are allowed only if they use MySpace (or whatever the service might be) as their "official" web site. Nathan Kress, for example, uses MySpace as his official site, (he does not have an official website elsewhere) so the use of MySpace is appropriate there. In cases where a person HAS an official website other than MySpace, etc., a MySpace link is not necessary. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).
