How would you feel if I applied indef EC on Sidhu Moose Wala

Such has been suggested at RFPP and it seems to meet the criteria. Thought I'd ask somebody familiar with the ground. I'm wary of indeffing anything, but since the page is already indef semi... BusterD (talk) 16:55, 28 August 2022 (UTC)

You not being handy in the moment, I split the infant and applied one year EC with a note in the log to revert this back to indef semi if EC is not required or desired. BusterD (talk) 17:42, 28 August 2022 (UTC)

Sockpuppet

@C.Fred: Is if possible to start the sockpuppet investigation of User:ArvindPalaskar. An IP has reported to me that User:ArvindPalaskar is a sockpuppet of User:NavjotSR in my talk page. Is that true? @Theoder2055: Thanks for pinging me. The IP who reported it to you is Deepika o the long term abuser who has now attracted the attention of dozens of users dedicated to catch and report him. @Theoder2055: I have to agree with ArvindPalaskar, having taken a closer look at both users. The IP definitely made a bad-faith accusation of sockpuppetry. Yeah, there's topic overlap, but that's coincidence. —C.Fred (talk) 12:28, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

@Theoder2055, ArvindPalaskar, and NavjotSR:, and, of course, C.Fred: I too got talk page messages from the same IP editor about this, and I totally agree with C.Fred. Unfortunately, though, the IP edits are spread across a wide IPrange, with large amounts of unrelated editing, so blocking is not an option. JBW (talk) 13:09, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

@C.Fred: Even if we doesn’t warn him he will afterwards start making disruptive editing after we stop warning. So we don’t know when he will continue the same. Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale

Your are wrong with restoring the wrong information sourced to Lulu.com (a depreciated self-published unreliable source) by relying on a footnote from this unreliable source over here.

The actual reliable sources note his birth date to be 2 June, 1947 such as this reliable source, The Tribune, this scholarly book which was written by scholar Khushwant Singh, and more.

Still no "vandalism" happened, thus the warning should be removed. I knew that 2 June is the correct date and this is why I was doing the blanket revert. If it was going to be challenged like now then I would be surely backing up myself, just like I have. With the sources I have provided here and on talk page, I don't think that this should be considered "unsourced" anymore. Another Sockpuppet case

Hello @C.Fred: I have noticed User:Sathyalingam edits and he is also adding unsourced or poorly sourced content. He mainly edit on Ajith Kumar and Vijay’s films. Ajith Kumar and Vijay are top stars in Tamil cinema and have so many fans in Tamil cinema. This user is also big fan of them. He is also one among the Sockpuppets of User:Valimai, User:Nerkonda Paarvai, User:Thalapathybeast, User:Valimai Ajithkumar, User:VeeraVijayapandi, User:ThalaAjithkumar as these users are also big fans of Ajith Kumar and Vijay and they also change the box office collection without citing a reliable source. You can say that he is introducing incorrect information into articles. But what I noticed that Sathyalingam’s edits is similar to them. If you want you can check his contributions. One evidence is that in pages like Beast (2022 Indian film), Varisu, Valimai and other Ajith Kumar and Actor Vijay’s films these users make disruptive edits by making unconstructive edits and adding unsourced or poorly sourced content in those pages. Hazaras

Hi respectful C.Fred, My edit on the Hazaras article is based on contemporary genetic research, and many sources have clearly stated that the Hazaras are more closely related to the Turkic people of Central Asia than to East Asia and the Mongolians. Hello, The user KoizumiBS disputes the article by providing several old and second-hand sources, and changes in content with authoritative sources already included in the article. These actions of his are said to be a type of racism. Thank You--Iampharzad (talk) 05:12, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

@Iampharzad: First, the content of your edits and the sources you use need to be discussed on the article talk. Second, KoizumiBS is adding sources that they start are more up to date. I don't see any evidence of bad-faith edits. Boaters

I have an unrelated question you might be able to answer quickly, why can’t pictures with citations be shared? I’ve read in several places “only original pictures “ or “permission only” why is that a picture can’t be posted if it’s cited? Lacimoore1 (talk) 15:58, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

@Lacimoore1: The goal of Misplaced Pages is to be a 💕; therefore, we minimize the amount of content we use that is not free (i.e., under restrictive copyrights). Images can be used relatively liberally if they are free images: if they are in the public domain or under a free license such as Creative Commons. If they are not free, then the much more restrictive guidance of WP:Non-free content criteria comes into play. At that point, there has to be a compelling reason to use the non-free image: this typically means there isn't a possible way to replace it with a free image. —C.Fred (talk) 18:17, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
