José Ezekiel Misa Madrid (Template:IPA-tl; born December 4, 1997), professionally known as Ruru Madrid, is a Filipino actor who rose to fame in Protégé: The Battle For The Big Artista Break. In 2016, Madrid landed the role of Ybarro in the 2016 remake of Encantadia. He currently plays the lead role in Lolong.
Personal life
Madrid is a member of Iglesia Ni Cristo. He finished high school at National Christian Life College in Marikina.
He has two siblings: nicknamed Rara and Rere. He revealed that his mother originally planned to have five children (including them) to complete the five vowels of Filipino alphabet (a, e, i, o, u) and nickname them with 'R' in each vowel (Rara, Rere, Riri, Roro, Ruru) but when she had Rere in C-section, she was medically advised not to get pregnant.
In 2022, Madrid revealed that he has been dating actress Bianca Umali for four years.
Career
At the age of 15, Madrid was nominated at the Best Actor in Singapore International Film Festival last 2014. His most recent awards were from the PMPC Star Awards For TV.
