This 'article' is of little factual value, it as close as explicit propaganda as you can come. The Persians are alongside with the Medes one of Iran’s oldest ethnic groups of the Iranian plate, mentioned in Ancient Assyrian sources and by Ancient Greek historians like Herodotus. The CIA Factbook list Persians as Iran’s largest ethnic group (51%). Also there have existed several dynasties called the Persian Empire. |

The attempt to rebrand Persians as a language 'identity' and in the process deleting the Persian people as a distinctive ethnic group from history and minds is revisionist, deceitful and fraudulent. Misplaced Pages is not a place for spreading propaganda. I therefore suggest this whole article be deleted and replaced with the original article 'Persian people'. |
