Skacore is a subgenre of ska punk, blending 1970's 2 Tone ska revival music with old school and modern hardcore punk and various types of metal, emo, and thrash. Skacore was popularized by bands like, La Pobreska, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Suicide Machines, Choking Victim, Leftöver Crack, Operation Ivy, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Against All Authority, The Flaming Tsunamis, No Rights Reserved, The Malchiks, Take Sides, and A Billion Ernies. There is also a large Skacore scene in the UK, fronted by bands such as Capdown, King Prawn, Lightyear, Adequate 7 and Sonic Boom Six. The UK scene has its own distinct sound and often incorporates other genres into its sound, such as dub and hip-hop.
