Probably won't reply. Misplaced Pages:Don't template the regulars, especially when you're on the wrong end of an edit war. It's just silly.
Anunoby
Hi there. Regarding O.G. Anunoby and "Jr.", I was going off of MOS:FULLNAME being used in the lead. Are you disputing that the source is reliable, or just that MOS:JR says Using Jr., Sr., or other such distinctions, including in the lead sentence of an article, is only for cases in which the name with the suffix is commonly used in reliable sources.
I wasn't aware of that wording. It would make sense in a page title or in the body of another page, but seems to conflict with FULLNAME. —Bagumba (talk) 12:22, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Bagumba: I'm just going off MOS:JR. My interpretation of MOS:FULLNAME is that it relates to additional names--middle names, paternal/maternal surnames or initials that aren't commonly used in RS. If my interpretation is wrong (often is) then they are indeed at odds, so I dunno. Either way, I think some clarification needs adding to FULLNAME. If it's explicitly verified that Jr is a part of somebody's legal name (I'm assuming that's what we mean by "full name"), then surely MOS:JR doesn't apply. – .O. 13:40, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
- OK. I've posted at Misplaced Pages talk:Manual of Style/Biography § MOS:FULLNAME vs MOS:JR for clarification. Thanks. —Bagumba (talk) 18:47, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
MOS-something
Heya, just a quick one: where's the MOS which deals with whether a person identifies as British or English, etc.? It's getting silly at the Joshua article. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 19:37, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
- That took some effort lol got there eventually. WP:UKCHANGE gives us some guidance, but it's only an essay. I think it serves the same purpose though; encourages them to find the talk page. – .O. 21:23, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
