==Speedy deletion of ]==

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding <code>{{tl|hangon}}</code> to '''the top of ]''' (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on ''']''' explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for ''speedy'' deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. This user's block prevents editing this page or sending email, due to years and years of abuse. Realistically, their only remaining venue of appeal is ]. However, given they are still, after more than eight years, evading their block, ARBCOM is highly unlikely to be willing to consider the appeal at this time. Fangusu needs to show some modicum of good faith by refraining from any further ban evasion for at least six months and, given the history of evasion, probably considerably longer. --] (]) 18:59, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

:You have been editing without logging in while this account is blocked. While you may not have realized it, this is considered a violation of Misplaced Pages policy. Being blocked means that ''you'' as a person are not allowed to edit Misplaced Pages until the block expires, not just that your ''account'' can't be used. You are not allowed to edit at all while you are blocked, not even if you aren't signed in. == WARNING ==
Fangusu, I want you to read this very carefully, because this might be the last warning you get before you are banned permanently from Misplaced Pages. I don't want that to happen, and I don't think you do either, so you have to read this carefully and stop breaking the rules.
*Stop uploading copyrighted images without following the rules about fair use. This requires that the images be small, irreplaceable, and have a proper rationale for every single article they're used in. Read the info at the links you've been given in earlier warnings to learn all of the rules. If the rules are too confusing, then stop uploading copyrighted images at all.
*Stop adding copyrighted images to articles they aren't allowed in. There are rules about what articles a copyrighted image can be in. Follow the rules, or you will be blocked again.
*Stop changing images with no good reason. You may like the pictures of animals better, but for articles about body parts, they are not acceptable in the way you've been using them.
*Stop changing words with no good reason. You might like the word "people" better than "humans," but "humans" is the right word to use in many contexts.
*Stop removing content from articles. You might not like the information on humans in the article about biting, but you can't just change it to something that isn't true or remove it altogether.
I really want you to be able to keep editing Misplaced Pages, but we can't let you do that if you are going to keep abusing that privilege. Please don't blow this. It might be your last chance. --] (]) 03:29, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
:Why can't I change words if I want, and why are the pictures of animals not acceptable in articles about body parts?--](]) 9:29,5 June 2008 (UTC)
::The biggest problem with changing things repeatedly as you have is that it violates the ] that we strive for here on Misplaced Pages. When multiple different editors revert your attempts to change things, it means that at very least, if you think it's a good edit to make, you should discuss it on the article's talk page. To reach the talk page of any article, just click the "discussion" link at the top of it. That way, there can be a discussion about whether or not it's a good change, instead of just a futile edit war with endless reverts. In regards to the two specific types of changes, here is what I would say if you asked on a talk page. Other editors might have slightly different reasonings, but this is the best way I can explain it.
::The problem with changing "human" to "person" is that the two words, while by and large synonymous, have slightly different connotations and are used in different contexts. In most scientific contexts, such as anatomy, and when comparing humans to other animals, "human" is generally used. To use "person" instead makes it look less professional. It would be kind of like using the words "kitty" and "bunny" in articles about cats and rabbits. In other contexts, however, "person" is more typical (such as when there's no chance they'd be talking about an animal, as in laws stipulating that, for example, "no one shall sell alcohol to a person under the age of 21"), so if you aren't sure whether or not it should be changed in a particular article or usage, your best bet is to either leave it alone or ask on the talk page.
::The problem with changing the images is that, as we are all humans, the main focus of articles about anatomy is also humans. An animal picture is acceptable when the article is primarily about animals or that kind of animal in particular, or to illustrate a point the article makes about the similarities and differences between animals. The main purpose of images is to help a reader to understand the information in the article better. Making an article look better is a secondary purpose, so using an image that is less informative just because it looks better (in your opinion) doesn't make much sense.
::Your current block is temporary, and will expire soon, because the administrators who blocked you thinks that you deserve another chance to start following the rules. So please use this chance to do so. If you don't, then at some point either next time or not too long after, your block will be permanent. --] (]) 00:01, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

==Questions== | |||
Why is editing anonymously vandalism? What is wrong with the picture of the Doom comic? How come it is not acceptable in that article about comic books? Whenever I edit without logging in, how do you come to know that the anonymous user is me? And for another thing, when am I allowed to use the word, 'people' instead of 'humans'? Why can't I use the word, 'people' in the article about cougars? <small>--(Questions from ] moved here from main userpage)</small>
:I've moved these questions here from your main userpage. Your main userpage is for you to put whatever information you want to about yourself and your interests, but discussions and questions that you wish to receive answers to are better left on this, your talk page. Otherwise, people might not see what you had to say because they weren't looking there. If you want to be sure someone sees your questions about editing Misplaced Pages, you can also ask them at ].
#Editing anonymously is usually allowed, but it's not allowed if your non-anonymous account is blocked when you are doing it. That's because a block means that you, the person, are not allowed to edit, not just that you can't edit with the blocked username. There was one time when you edited anonymously while you were blocked, but you said that you didn't know that it wasn't allowed so no one is going to blame you for that. There was another time when you were not blocked and you edited anonymously, which is allowed, but someone else got confused and thought you were blocked at the time. It was the other person who made a mistake that time, not you. You are allowed to edit anonymously as long as your account is not blocked, it just gets confusing because it's harder to tell who is who when you don't sign in. So it's very helpful to everyone else if you always sign in to edit.
#If you read the pages about fair use for copyrighted images, that will explain why the Doom comic picture cannot be used in an article about comic books. But the short explanation is this. Most of the time, we cannot use pictures that are copyrighted. That means that the picture is owned by someone. It isn't just against Misplaced Pages rules, it's against the law. That's why we have to be so strict about it. Copyrighted pictures can only be used if under two circumstances. One is that the picture's owner says that it's okay to use it freely. The other one is called "fair use," and that's if it is being used to illustrate an article about the same thing as what's in the picture, and even then only if it would be impossible to get a non-copyrighted image instead. A copyrighted picture of a Doom comic can't illustrate an article about comic books, because someone owns the picture, and they have not said that it's okay to use it, and there are non-copyrighted images we can use instead.
#I explained earlier on your this page (]) why "people" and "humans" can't always be switched for each other. You can go back and re-read that to see when one is normally used, and when the other is normally used. In most articles you find, whichever is used is probably the right one for that article. If you think it should be changed, you can explain why on the article's talk page (you get to an article's talk page by clicking on the "discussion" link at the top of the article) and if other editors agree with you, they will change it or tell you that it's okay to change it.

Fangusu, begging as you did will not change the fact that the image you uploaded is not appropriate for use in the articles you've attempted to add it to. It is not acceptable to use an image with a watermark (like the Moby Games logo in the corner of that image) when there is an acceptable image without one. The rules are not going to change just because you don't like them, and you can't keep breaking the rules just because you don't like them, either. Stop changing images with no good reason, and stop re-doing edits that other editors have reverted. If you think your idea is better, propose it on the article's talk page. These are the same things I've told you many times, and none of it has or ever will change. --] (]) 07:19, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I have attempted many times over the past couple of months to explain to you that it is inappropriate to keep trying to force your own preferences on articles when others have repeatedly reverted them. Is it pointless to keep telling you to use talk pages instead of repeatedly reverting back to your favorite version of an article, or are you going to start being cooperative? If you continue to engage in editwarring like this, you will leave us no choice but to block you yet again. --] (]) 03:30, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
:The point is that you keep making the same edits over and over again, after they have been reverted by multiple different editors. This is not acceptable behavior, and it is not being cooperative. It is disruptive and unproductive. Making one or two talk page posts when I remind you to does not make up for editwarring at other times.. You ''have'' made some useful edits, which is why I don't want you to end up permanently blocked from editing. But if you keep trying to force everyone to accept your edits by doing them repeatedly even when they're reverted over and over again, you won't leave any other options but to block you so you can't be disruptive anymore. Note to admins reviewing unblock requests
For anyone considering any unblock requests (via UTRS presumably), please be aware that Fangusu has been evading their block - see User talk:172.58.24.53 and User talk:172.56.40.140. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 15:27, 28 March 2016 (UTC)

Block evasion occurred on 2016-09-19, see 134.154.20.152 (talk · contribs). Six months will have elapsed on 2017-03-19. --Yamla (talk) 14:47, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
For anyone else considering an unblock request, please also see Misplaced Pages:Long-term abuse/Fangusu, which shows she has been socking continuously for eight years, and is still at it. Unblocking her after six months would be extremely generous. Ivanvector (/Edits) 16:41, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
This user's block prevents editing this page or sending email, due to years and years of abuse. Realistically, their only remaining venue of appeal is WP:ARBCOM. --Yamla (talk) 18:59, 24 November 2016 (UTC)
There's been another one at User talk:172.56.38.244. It's not worth copying them all the this page's archive, but it's probably worth keeping one every few months, so I've copied this one there too. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 19:27, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Just noting here that one of Fangusu's IP ranges has been blocked for six months by Graham87, though I can't say from what I see that the block is (entirely) due to Fangusu's activity. Ivanvector (/Edits) 19:48, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, but I can say for sure that the 1-month block of this other IP range is because of Fangusu. Ivanvector (/Edits) 19:50, 30 November 2016 (UTC)

Unblock instructions
Fangusu, lots of editors have told you exactly what you need to do if you want to be unblocked. Here it is one more time. Read this and follow these instructions, otherwise you will not be unblocked. This is paraphrased from our policy at WP:SOCKBLOCK.
- Do not edit from any account nor while logged out anywhere on English Misplaced Pages. No edits at all. For six months.
- After six months of not editing at all, and send a request to the Arbitration Committee using arbcom-llists.wikimedia.org.
Those are the two things you need to do if you want to be unblocked. We could not be more clear. This is the only way. I guarantee it.
- If you choose not to follow these instructions, you will not be unblocked.
- If you make a request on any user's talk page, you will not be unblocked.
- If you make a request prior to six months with no edits, you will not be unblocked.
- If you make any edit at all, no matter how constructive, anywhere on English Misplaced Pages, your edit will be removed, and you will not be unblocked.
- If you show that you can follow these instructions exactly, we will take it as a sign that you can follow the rules here, and it is possible that you will be unblocked.
Six months from today is November 9, 2017. If you respect your siteban and do not attempt to edit Misplaced Pages at all, then make a proper request to the Arbitration Committee as instructed above after November 9, 2017, your request will be considered. Otherwise, the answer is and always will be no. (Modified from this original by Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 15:52, 3 February 2016 (UTC)) - Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 17:10, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
- UTRS request made and declined today (see UTRS#19724 for those with permissions). Have advised user to email Arbcom, per the instructions above. Yunshui 水 15:10, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
- This has been stale a good long time, but this edit resets the clock. Ivanvector (/Edits) 01:42, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- I would like to note that the Arbitration Committee does not review community bans unless they fall within specific narrow categories. Please see here. As this ban does not fall within those categories, it falls to the community to decide any appeal by this editor. ~ Rob13 05:28, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
