The original couple who first bred and registered Pugese with the American Canine Hybrid Club started by breeding a purebred AKC registered Male Pug to a purebred AKC registered Female Chinese Crested. The result was a litter of puppies that have the pug face. Some have fluffy Chinese Crested style hair while others have scattered hair, almost no hair with a few little tufts of wispy hair or even a few that are totally bald. These pups are very easy to care for and have no special requirements. The hairless ones do not require sunscreen at all even in the Arizona sun. Sunscreen makes them break out with boil type pimples and NEVER use products containing lanolin! They are allergic to it and it may have severe consequences. There are a few direct bloodlines still available from the original breeders. Thru breeding they have managed to breed a dog that looks just like a hairless pug.
