There is an annual smash up derby in Manitowaning where anyone over 18 may enter the car into a small tire ring and smash their cars into each other. The last car still able to move wins that round. But note that though it is entertaining there have been incidents where small rocks and hubcaps have injured spectators. Depending on how many cars are entered there could be from 3-7 rounds in the derby. In ] there is also an annual Pow-Wow that is held on every civic weekend (the first weekend in August). This pow-wow is thought of to be the largest and oldest pow-wow in all of eastern ] and is considered on of the top pow-wows in ]. Including that there is a small theater company located in ] as well. In the town of Manitowaning there is a local skateboard park, Tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, a golf course, a local beach, and what may be a horse racing track.
