River Sioux is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Harrison County, Iowa, United States. As of the 2020 Census the population was 42.

History

River Sioux was platted in 1868 when the railroad was extended to that point. It was named after the nearby Little Sioux River.

Education

River Sioux is zoned to the West Harrison Community School District.

As of the census of 2020, there were 42 people, 17 households, and 7 families residing in the community. The population density was 110.4 inhabitants per square mile (42.6/km). There were 28 housing units at an average density of 73.6 per square mile (28.4/km). The racial makeup of the community was 95.2% White, 0.0% Black or African American, 0.0% Native American, 0.0% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 0.0% from other races and 4.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino persons of any race comprised 4.8% of the population.
