In his book ''Shabtai Tzvi, Labor Zionism and the Holocaust'', Chamish said that Levi Eshkol was a secret ], and that the ] was based on the teachings of the 17th century figure ], considered an ] to ]. Although the book contained no direct evidence that any modern politician worships Shabbatai Zevi, it argued that Labor Zionism has its root inside Sabbateanism.

===Gaza Strip witdrawal and Hurricane Katrina===
Chamish has connected the Israeli withdrawal from the ] with the Hurricane Katrina disaster in ], because Gush (Katif) and Gulf start with GU and Katrina and (Gush) Katif start with KAT. He said that the remainder of the latter words, after subtracting KAT and rearranging rina, is "if rain". Chamish told Aaron Klein, the Jerusalem reporter of the ]: ''Simple human beings cannot fully understand what is going on, but the events certainly must be connected. It's statistically impossible to have two such great natural disasters like the recent tsunami in Asia and Katrina right after each other. This is the hand of God. Chamish concluded that this was a sort of general rehearsal for the American set-up of the 9/11 attacks on the United States, in which almost 3000 persons died. <ref> </ref>

Chamish has a website and newsletter devoted to a variety of theories about ] and society. Suppositions include proposed explanations for the deaths of ], ] and ] who reportedly drowned after he was swept away when working on a dock in the port of ]. Chamish says that the top of his car and windows were smashed badly and that a wave would not have been capable of inflicting such damage.

Chamish wrote a book about ] sightings in ]. Although he has not written on UFOs for some years he still stands by his analysis on UFOs. <ref></ref>

In March 2008 Chamish was ordered to pay ] Israeli activist ] the sum of NIS 36,000 ($10,000) for libel. Chamish had published articles on his websites referring to Ben-Gvir as an undercover ] agent. Judge Oded Shaham ruled that "these publications portrayed Ben-Gvir as a dishonest and dangerous man. Ben-Gvir was deemed a traitor to his right-wing cause in these articles, and was even accused of committing fraud. Some of these articles indicate that Ben-Gvir, while apparently opposed to the Gaza pullout, worked actively to thwart all opposition to the disengagement, and others even stated that he convinced a man to stone an innocent bystander to death. All of these assertions undoubtedly constitute libel." <ref></ref>

Barry Chamish (Hebrew: ברי חמיש; January 13, 1952 – August 23, 2016) was a Canadian-born Israeli writer and public speaker. He was best known for promoting conspiracy theories about the death of Yitzhak Rabin - Israel's prime minister who was assassinated in 1995.

Early years

Barry Chamish was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

In the first half of the 1970s, Chamish had three novels and a book of short stories published in his native Canada. His novel Mack won a Canada Council Award worth several thousand dollars. In 1976, his book Alice in Newfoundland won a Manitoba Arts Council Award.

Chamish earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Manitoba in 1974. In 1975, Chamish emigrated to Israel, where he attended the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He received a Master of Arts degree in 1979.

Following graduation, Chamish was conscripted into the Israel Defense Forces, and served as a regular from 1979 to 1981. He participated as a reservist in the 1982 Lebanon War, during which he operated a Redeye anti-aircraft missile.

Career

Chamish began to work as a free-lance writer, publishing material in a range of publications including The Atlantic, National Review, and the New York Newsday. Chamish established a news service to distribute his work called "Profiles of Israel," which he continued throughout the decade of the 1980s.

During the 1990s, Chamish wrote extensively on UFOs Chamish's work was featured on four episodes of the NBC-TV program Sightings as well as a half-hour of primetime coverage on FOX-TV.
