===Ariel Sharon===

In ''Who Murdered Yitzhak Rabin?'' Chamish claims that Rabin was not killed by a lone gunman and that he was shot three times—with the fatal wound being fired from the front.<ref name="Right" /> By the end of 2005 the book had sold 39,000 copies and had been published in seven different languages.<ref name="Right">Barry Chamish, ''The Jerusalem Post,'' February 2, 2006.</ref>
Chamish has written extensively about what he views as ]'s and Shimon Peres's "mismanagement" of the war {{Fact|date=February 2007}}. Chamish believes that Sharon, in collusion with Peres and ], deliberately perpetrated the ] in order to destroy Begin's political reputation and career. Chamish maintains a very low opinion of Sharon based on a number episodes in Sharon's public life .

In 2008 the Jerusalem Magistrate Court summoned Chamish to pay ], an ] activist, defamation damages of 36,000 NIS (roughly US$10,000) after repeatedly calling him an agent of the ] intelligence service.<ref>{{Cite web |url= http://www.inn.co.il/News/News.aspx/172478 |title= בן-גביר כונה "סוכן שב"כ" - ויפוצה |website= ערוץ 7 |access-date=2016-08-05}}</ref>
Chamish also described the drowning of former Israeli minister ], who reportedly was "swept away by a wave while working on a dock in Ashdod", as a "hit" by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon . The police and media in Israel saw it as an accident.

:''Barely a fortnight before, Rep. Owens learned the Ginosar scandal broke in Israel. He was either terrified or furious. It's a tossup. If he was terrified, it was because it wouldn't be long before his direct ties to Stephen Cohen would implicate him deeply in the scandals. If he was furious, it was because he finally learned how badly he had been scammed by Peres, Abraham, Masri and Cohen. Either way, he threatened to blow the whistle on the ]. He was poisoned at dinner and dead on a beach by 9 PM. Rep. Owens is now another notch on Peres' gunbelt.''

===Gaza Strip withdrawal and Hurricane Katrina===
Barry Chamish connects the Israeli withdrawal from the ] with the Hurricane Katrina disaster in ], because Gush (Katif) and Gulf start with GU and Katrina and (Gush) Katif start with KAT. He points out that the remainder of the latter words, after subtracting KAT and rearranging rina, is "if rain". Chamish told Aaron Klein, the Jerusalem reporter of the ]: ''Simple human beings cannot fully understand what is going on, but the events certainly must be connected. It's statistically impossible to have two such great natural disasters like the recent tsunami in Asia and Katrina right after each other. This is the hand of God. He is saying something.'' This view is also supported by some religious Jews who are not conspiracy theorists.

In addition to the letters, Chamish connects the two occurrences also with numbers: "There are approximately 6 million people in Israel. 10,000 divided by 6,000,000 equals ''0.00167''. Two weeks later, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in the southern United States, and laid waste and complete desolation to the City of New Orleans. New Orleans has a population of 500,000. US News agencies are openly calling those displaced by the hurricane 'refugees.' There are approximately 300 million people in the United States. 500,000 divided by 300,000,000 equals ''0.00167''."

===UFOs===
Chamish has also written a book about ] sightings in ]. In the 21st century, he stopped writing about UFOs, although he still claims his analysis on UFOs to be true.

===Miscellaneous theories===
In the Versailles banquet hall disaster, where a floor collapsed during a wedding, 23 persons were killed and 300 more injured. Chamish, without quoting any evidence, deducts that this was a sort of general rehearsal for the American set-up of the 9/11 attacks on the United States, in which almost 3000 persons died.

In 2005, Chamish broke the story of a large secret military base being built in Israel by the US and published numerous pictures as well. . Located near ], the base was completed shortly thereafter and turned over to the IDF.

Chamish also accuses ] of being a "liar" , who hid his alleged role of ] double-agent , and not a heroic '']'' as many believe.

==Criticism==
The chief critic of Barry Chamish is Prof. ] in the '']'' weekly and the ''Jerusalem Post'' daily . ] has dismissed Chamish's work as "nonsense". Both Prof. Plaut and Mr. Pipes have condemned Chamish's theories as fiction. The ''Outpost'' dedicated in March 2002 an editorial item on Barry Chamish, including the following criticism on Chamish's "methodology" :

<blockquote>Chamish literally spouts conspiracy theories. Does the Israeli government claim that Tourism Minister ] was murdered by Arab terrorists? Chamish knows better. Prior to his death, writes Chamish, "Zeevi went on the war path against Peres, which was not a wise strategy. Others have tried and others have died." Chamish hints darkly at connections between Peres and the French and the ]. He writes: "It would have been no trouble for Peres and the French to order the PFLP to knock off Zeevi. (There's unconscious humor for you. Chamish? Proof? A ramble down free association lane is Chamish's notion of "proof.") Chamish promises that the "answer, ultimately will lead to the same organization which murdered Yitzhak Rabin." (Peres, needless to say, was behind that one too.) </blockquote>

Barry Chamish (Hebrew: ברי חמיש; January 13, 1952 – August 23, 2016) was a Canadian-born Israeli writer and public speaker. He was best known for promoting conspiracy theories about the death of Yitzhak Rabin - Israel's prime minister who was assassinated in 1995.

Early years

Barry Chamish was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

In the first half of the 1970s, Chamish had three novels and a book of short stories published in his native Canada. His novel Mack won a Canada Council Award worth several thousand dollars. In 1976, his book Alice in Newfoundland won a Manitoba Arts Council Award.

Chamish earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Manitoba in 1974. In 1975, Chamish emigrated to Israel, where he attended the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He received a Master of Arts degree in 1979.

Following graduation, Chamish was conscripted into the Israel Defense Forces, and served as a regular from 1979 to 1981. He participated as a reservist in the 1982 Lebanon War, during which he operated a Redeye anti-aircraft missile.

Career

Chamish began to work as a free-lance writer, publishing material in a range of publications including The Atlantic, National Review, and the New York Newsday. Chamish established a news service to distribute his work called "Profiles of Israel," which he continued throughout the decade of the 1980s.

During the 1990s, Chamish wrote extensively on UFOs Chamish's work was featured on four episodes of the NBC-TV program Sightings as well as a half-hour of primetime coverage on FOX-TV.

In the 1990s and 2000s, Chamish published a series of conspiracy books, including Traitors and Carpetbaggers in the Promised Land (1997), The Final Days of Israel (2000), Israel Betrayed (2001), and Bye Bye Gaza (2006). Chamish charged in these that an array of external and internal forces had "corrupted the country's leaders" and engaged in a "determined agenda aimed at the demise of the Jewish state."

In Who Murdered Yitzhak Rabin? Chamish claims that Rabin was not killed by a lone gunman and that he was shot three times—with the fatal wound being fired from the front. By the end of 2005 the book had sold 39,000 copies and had been published in seven different languages.

In 2008 the Jerusalem Magistrate Court summoned Chamish to pay Itamar Ben-Gvir, an Israeli far-right activist, defamation damages of 36,000 NIS (roughly US$10,000) after repeatedly calling him an agent of the Shin Bet intelligence service.

In the mid-2000s, Barry Chamish moved to the United States, last in Florida, where he continued writing and had a radio show on First Amendment Radio on Tuesday evenings. He died in his apartment in Florida in 2016.
