Court documents from when Matt sued the band show that Matt and Gerard started the band on or before 1 September 2001. He has also claimed that a lot of the band history is made up lies to make them look better. So this would seem to support this fact. |

I'd recommend someone making serious changes to the paragraph detailing the beginnings of the band. Or at least to mention at the beginning that there is evidence to suggest the band was formed before 9/11. |
