I’m thinking to either add these Danish names in parentheses in the text, after each English name, or add a little glossary in the picture caption. This article is not about the Danish Realm! The subject of this article is metropolitan Denmark, a constituent country of the Danish Realm. It does not include Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Issues related to those countries/territories should be discussed at their own talk pages.
This article is written in British English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, travelled, centre, defence, artefact, analyse) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.
Former good articleDenmark was one of the Geography and places good articles, but it has been removed from the list. There are suggestions below for improving the article to meet the good article criteria. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake.

Not done for now:
  1. Please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made.
  2. Format specifically, such as "change X to Y" or "add X after Y".

Is denmark.dk really the official danish website?

No source for this, and it seems kinda strange that the tagline would be

"Once we were brutal Vikings. Now we are one of the world's most peaceful societies. Welcome to Denmark."

any source for this? Monological (talk) 23:41, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

It's as official as possible: "The site is the official site of Denmark and is edited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark." -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 23:47, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

Land border

As of 2022 Denmark now shares a land border with Canada 148.252.158.154 (talk) 14:30, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

Good catch. I have added the following to Talk:Geography of Denmark#Hans Island, and it also applies here:
Hans Island is not mentioned, meaning that this content is not true:
  • "... Schleswig-Holstein to the south, on Denmark's only land border, 68 kilometres (42 miles) long."
Denmark shares a common land border with Canada, as there is a land border that dissects Hans Island:
  • "A 1,280-metre-long (4,200 ft) border traverses the island."
Somehow we need to include mention of Hans Island and fix this "land border" issue. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 16:41, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
So why did I learn long ago that Denmark is in Europe, just sitting north of Germany like a hat?? Is this true?? Or is Denmark in North America northeast of Canada?? Georgia guy (talk) 16:57, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
LOL! Good one. Both are true. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 17:09, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
The issue has been raised and answered several times before on the talk page, e.g. here: The present article is about "metropolitan (i.e. European) Denmark", not about the Danish Realm. Consequently, it does not border Canada. --Økonom (talk) 19:17, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 19:25, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

English & Danish names

The text in the section Geography uses English names for the islands, but the map there has Danish ones, so it’s not very coherent and it’s up to the intelligent reader to figure out that Sjælland = Zealand and Fyn = Funen.

I’m thinking to either add these Danish names in parentheses in the text, after each English name, or add a little glossary in the picture caption. And maybe add something about Skagen to clarify where the North Jutlandic Island is on the map. What’s the recommended approach? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Geke (talkcontribs) 11:20, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

The best option would be an image with matching names, but a glossary in the caption makes sense. CMD (talk) 15:02, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

Metropolitan versus royal

would anybody mind if I take out the bits about royal Denmark in the lead? Rufus the Unqualified (talk) 16:28, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

There's no Royal Denmark article, is there?? Georgia guy (talk) 16:53, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
