I propose that ] be merged into ]. I think that the content in the Beats 1 article can easily be explained in the context of Apple Music. Beats1 should be a seperate article, and there certainly shouldn't be a serperate infobox for it in this article since there isn't much content here about the channel itself.

== iTunes Radio merger proposal ==

The existing iTunes Radio page is limited in its coverage, while Apple Music is shaping up to be a much more sizable topic/article. In my view, it would make sense to integrate any noteworthy content from the iTunes Radio article into this page; it can form a more comprehensive "History" section since it can be considered an beginning stages of the new service, and can obviously still be listed as a current feature of Apple Music in its new form. ] (]) 16:21, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

::Here's the thing: it's no longer ], now it's just . This article is now out-of-date, and should be merged or updated to note it is merely a feature of Apple Music, or of ] (it is, of course, Apple's fault this is so confusing). Having read the iTunes Radio article, there really isn't much worth saving from a merge. Launch dates, technical specs, system requirements, and then a paragraph on... Apple Music. A merge is in order. ] (]) 17:12, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
:::iTunes Radio continues to work on iOS 7 and iOS 8.0–8.2 and older versions of iTunes from before Apple Music, no? I don’t see a reason to merge it. Just make sure that Apple Music is only mentioned as the successor service and leave the article as it is. We don’t have to destroy a perfectly good article just because Apple discontinued it in its current form.–<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'DejaVu Serif', serif; " {{#if:|class="{{{class}}}"}} {{#if:|id="{{{id}}}"}} {{#if:|title="{{{title}}}"}}>Totie</span> (]) 18:00, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

:I made some changes to the iTunes Radio article to reflect this (without prejudice to the discussion). :::I’ve already updated it, as I said. Users who still have the right versions of iTunes and iOS can still access the service and it’s not entirely succeeded by Apple Music. Apple Music Radio requires a subscription for the latter.–<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'DejaVu Serif', serif; " {{#if:|class="{{{class}}}"}} {{#if:|id="{{{id}}}"}} {{#if:|title="{{{title}}}"}}>Totie</span> (]) 23:17, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

== Pre-launch speculation ==

I've removed the Nilay Patel pre-launch editorial/speculation from from the Reception section. There's no point to have that kind of pre-announcement speculation in here--how could it be considered "Reception" if it was published before any information about it was even announced? As far as I can tell, it's uncritically copypasted sales-lingo.

== Add a "Controversy" point ==

This could probably use a category "Controversy", seeing how (this is the original blog entry, just check the pingback for a lot more links). Seeing how it's an Apple product there will no doubt be a lot more controversy in the future, so it seems to be a wise precaution.

Free Trail Reduced To 1 Month

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

Apple recently updated its Apple Music free trial policy. Is this worth updating the page?

Apple has reduced the free trial from 3 months to 1 month only in certain countries. The pricing remains unchanged and the six month trial period offer with the purchase of products such as Beats, AirPods, and the HomePod mini still stands--Canthisflynn (talk) 07:37, 7 February 2022 (UTC) https://indianexpress.com/article/technology/tech-news-technology/apple-music-reduces-free-trial-period-to-one-month-7759177/

It is also worth noting that you can get a 3 month trial using the Shazam app or by using the "share with a friend" link. However, I am not sure if this is still valid or not. Wiichicken (talk) 15:55, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
