The 1996 Arizona Republican presidential primary took place on February 27, 1996, as one of the Republican Party's statewide nomination contests ahead of the 1996 United States presidential election. Creator of Forbes, Steve Forbes, defeated Bob Dole, Pat Buchanan, and Lamar Alexander in a close primary. Forbes won with a 3.7% margin and would make Arizona one of only two states he would win in the primaries (the other being Delaware).
