Alexander Hummerhielm was the son of the Swedish cavalry general Nils Hummer. His birth date was given in the knightly house genealogies as 1643. Alexander Hummer became a cavalryman in the Scanian cavalry in 1670, a pikeman in 1672, and a furrier in the Life guards in 1673.
