Hmm... It seems someone has inserted this exact same unsourced sentence - or close enough - across a range of articles. I've just come from writing a lengthy Talk page post here: https://en.wikipedia.org/Talk:Declaration_of_the_Rights_of_Man_and_of_the_Citizen#Proposal:_reference_to_the_UN_Universal_Declaration_of_Human_Rights_be_removed_from_the_lede | |||

I'll just quote the summary of the most pertinent part here: "In short, Humphrey and his top aide, ], came up with a list of "forty-eight items" that represented, in their view, "the common core" of the intellectual history of human rights they had collected, to be presented to the drafting committee, containing British, French, American, Swedish, Norwegian, Soviet, Chilean, Panamanian and Mexican documents and proposals - all with 400 pages commentary." PC Chang was member of the Drafting Committee. Chang was a confucian. Yet, Chang repeatedly complained that the other members of the Drafting Committee lacked any knowledge or interest in Confucian theory. Confucius was added to the list of Thinkers influencing the Declaration by user ] on February 19, 2022. I kindly suggest that a source should be supplied to back up the claim that Confucius' legacy had any substantial impact on the eventual Declaration. ] (]) 22:14, 27 February 2022 (UTC) |
