Ikechukwu Arthur Anoke or simply referred to as Ike (born 29 April 1984), is a Kenyan-based Nigerian business executive and entrepreneur. Ike is the co-founder and CEO of Zuri Health, a Kenyan digital healthcare company, and the founder Taurus Musik.
Early life
Arthur Ikechukwu Anoke was born on April 29, 1984, and raised in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. In 2000, he began his undergraduate studies at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 2004. Four years later, in 2008, Ike embarked on a professional journey to Kenya, joining M-Tech Group, a Nigerian multinational company, as a management consultant. What initially started as a career move eventually became a turning point in his life, leading him to settle in Kenya.
Career
Early career
In 2008, when Ike came to Kenya to work for the Nigerian-based M-Tech Group, he was supposed to work for three months as per his contract, but he received contract extension which resulted in becoming the company's managing director, in charge of the Kenyan office in 2010. Inspired by local events, Ike launched Naija Night, a social platform where Nigerians and Kenyans could connect and celebrate their cultures.
Entertainment
Building on Naija Night success, Ike partnered with Nigerian veteran comedian Opa Williams to bring the Night of a Thousand Laughs, Africa's comedy show, to Kenya in 2011. It was this same stable that encouraged Nigerian artistes such as P-Square and Bracket to come and hold shows in Kenya.
As his brand grew in Kenyan showbiz, Ike, then managing director of M-Tech Group, decided it was time to step down and pursue his entrepreneurial vision by founding Taurus Musik in 2012. Ike through Taurus Musik kicked off by signing Camp Mulla. And spreading his wings further, Ike reached out to Tanzanian, Ugandan and South African artistes, some of whom Ike signed to Taurus Musik including Lady Jaydee and Alicios Theluji, among others.
Politics
In 2014, Ike booked himself a ticket to contest as a member of parliament in the Federal House of Representatives in 2015 Nigerian general election. He has been involved in many youth leadership and development projects back at home and now the people have asked him to go and serve them,” his aide told MondayBlues.
Zuri health
Ike is a co-founder and CEO of Play Zuri Health Limited or simply as Zuri Health, a digital healthcare company founded in Kenya in 2021 alongside Titilola Olaolu-Hassan and Daisy Isiaho. Reportedly, Zuri Health is a virtual hospital with an end-to-end platform allowing patients to access their entire healthcare journey in one place, from scheduling a doctor’s appointment to buying medication to booking a lab test. Zuri Health unveiled its first mobile application in 2021. Zuri Health also has an SMS component that allows patients who cannot access internet to speak with health professionals via text message.
In 2022, as reported Zuri Health secured $1.3 million in a pre-seed round to expand in Africa. The funding round was led by DOB Equity, Launch Africa and Founders Factory Africa and attracted additional investments from V8 Capital, Platform Capital, Villgro Africa, Asime Ventures, and the Salik Family Trust. In same year, Zuri Health was awarded Ksh.7M grants by Gates Foundation. In 2022, the company was present in Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia.
