Hey HJ, how you been? I see that you're an Admin., and how cool is that? Are you enjoying your new found glory? lol. Wow, I appreciate that you upgraded me as an Autoreviewer, that's ''so'' cool. I will handle this with care. :) --] ] ] 18:59, 17 June 2010 (UTC) :@] I see ] despite the block but it's probably not doing much at this point so I've made it anon-only. You shouldn't have any more problems. ] &#124; ] 16:41, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
::Thanks! <span class="nowrap">&#8212;''']'''</span> <sup class="nowrap">(] • {]•]})</sup> 05:43, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
:Hey, I'm pretty good, thanks. This admin bit makes things so much easier! I'm surprised you didn't have autoreviewer already, but there's no need for new page patrollers to use up precious time reviewing your edits when they could be dealing with something that ''needs'' reviewing and you're sensible enough to know what you're doing. Aren't you? ;) I see some idiot tried to tell the world that Kirsten Dunst was dead the other day (for which I blocked them!) so other than that, how are thing on-wiki for you? Any more FAs in the works? ] &#124; ] 19:17, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
::Well, I really didn't understand this whole reviewer thing, wasn't that popular yet until I was granted reviewer rights. I was excited that someone trusted me with this, and hope not to dissapoint them. :) Yup, that's exactly it; I'm ''very'' sensible to stuff. ;) Is that why you deleted the edit from Dunst's history? My wiki work is good, I just finished a season of episodes and waiting for them to be promoted and then head off to ] so that my work pays off. I'm working on the next season episodes. Actually, I do have plans. In a couple of weeks I'm going to dedicate myself in improving ]'s article to FA status. If you're available in those couple of weeks I would appreciate some help with it. :) --] ] ] 19:29, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
:::Yeah, there's nowhere that it's explained in simple terms for regular editors who haven't read up on the history, but essentially from next week admins will be able to apply "pending changes" protection, which means edits from IPs and new accounts have to be checked by a reviewer before they appear in the live version so it becomes easier to screen out vandalism, BLP violations etc. Yeah, that's why I deleted the edit- it's a clear BLP violation and I didn't want anyone reverting back to that version whether accidentally or maliciously. I'd be happy to help out on Eckhart- I need to do some content work and it'll make a change from blocking vandals! ] &#124; ] 19:45, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
::::Sorry for my late, late, late, late, reply, I totally forgot you replied until I came to your talkpage... right now. Yeah, I just saw that one admin. unprotected this article I watch, though, ]. Oh, okay. I never understood that, cause I never seen that until a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, when you're available I'd love your help, I know your busy with other duties, which is ''very'' understandable. :) --] ] ] 21:02, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
:::::Careful! You nearly got archived! I've got it set right down to 36 hours at the minute, but I'll probably bump it up to 48 when I'm not giving rights out at the speed of light. I'm always happy to help- I seriously need to spend more time in the mainpsace- most of my recent mainspace edits have been protections, reverts or dealing with BLP issues. Perhaps you'd help me out with ] when we've finished Eckhart? I'd love to get her up to FA {{small|she's ''so'' pretty ;)}} and the article is in pretty good condition. Speaking of actresses, I stumbled across Kirsten Dunst's name in a Google News search for Lily. I don;t know if it's much use. ] &#124; ] 17:27, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know . Well, these are your duties now as an admin., it takes you away from the stuff before, you know. Yeah, after Eckhart I'd love to help out with Lily Cole... ]. :) I'll take a look at the article and see. Man, now this sucks that Pitt's article has been unprotected, and this ''supposed'' Scientology stuff. --] ] ] 23:44, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
:Oh snap, I believe your response was remove or something. Sure, what's the advice you want? --] ] ] 14:03, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
::I actually put him up for this new pending changes milarky, it might actually make a difference and if it doesn't, I can always re-protect it or ask another admin to do it since I'm probably too involved with the article to making admin actions there. The scientology stuff will probably blow over soon enough- it's not like it's a major part of his life, so I see no point in including it other than to be controversial. You've got yourself a deal- I'll help you with Eckhart, then you help me with Lily. ;) ] &#124; ] 16:46, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
:::It was you?!!!!!!! How could you? I thought we were friends... I'm just kidding. ;) I was like 'Why Pitt's article?' Oh well, I guess. Hopefully it does blow over, cause this just came out of nowhere. Excellent doing work with ya. :P --] ] ] 17:03, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
::::Yes, it was me! They're looking for 2000 articles that have had a long history of protection or have been problematic, so I added in Pitt since they want a wide variety and there aren't ''that'' many indefinitely protected BLP FAs. I thought about adding ] to the list, but I don;t think it would last a day before it had to be re-protected! So when do you want to start with Eckhart? :) ] &#124; ] 17:11, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
:::::<nowiki>*</nowiki>cough* Angelina Jolie *cough* Oh no, with what's going on in her PL it's sure to be a "prize" for these vandals. I think I'll start with some copy-edits here and there today. After that, I guess we can begin. :) --] ] ] 17:37, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
::::::Yeah, some articles are just a ''magnet'' for vandals- have you seen the recent history of ]? They unprotected ] as well. That didn't last long! You do your copy editing and stuff then and I'll come and join you when I've had something to eat and I've figured out why there are 200-and something candidates for speedy deletion! ] &#124; ] 17:41, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
:::::::Yeah, I saw Cruise's history, cause I wondered if Jolie's article was unprotected, cause I was in Pitt's article and clicked "what links here", but didn't saw her just Cruise. Why the Bible? That's not smart, especially when it comes to debates if it's real or not, or whatever. I'm surprised the Misplaced Pages article, itself, wasn't unprotected. Oh well. Oh, go eat something, you need your strength, God know I almost passed out cause I didn't have my breakfast, so take it from me who almost passed out. Really? 200 for speedy deletion? --] ] ] 17:47, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
I'm done with my read-through of Eckhart's article, and whenever your available I would appreciate your input. --] ] ] 22:12, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
:Oh dear. The morons are back! :) I'll cast my eye over it now I've had something to eat! I know you removed it, but i'd already thought about my reply, so I don't necessarily disagree with those diffs ({{small|disclaimer:I'm offering an editorial opinion, not an admin decision}}, I can see the point he's making- we have to strike a balance between being comprehensive and including every little detail the tabloids see fit to report. It is a difficult balance to strike, though and I think some of the stuff removed in those diffs might be worthy of inclusion, but it could probably be trimmed before being added back. You might want to take it to the talk pages to discuss it.... ] &#124; ] 22:59, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
::Yup, I first saw that vandalism from your talkpage pop up on my watchlist, I checked it out, and I was going to revert it but I was beaten to it. I ended up removing the non-notable for Schwimmer (who don't have articles). Alright, the hidden notes in Eckhart. He moved from , he dropped out of high school during his last year, and the POV thing isn't POV cause I've used that bit on ]'s article, and wasn't a problem. I hope I've addressed your concerns. --] ] ] 14:26, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
:::Fair enough, as long as you know the difference between ], the ] and ]- it seems even your ] doesn't know! ;) I'll work my way through the rest of the article later today. Those morons have been coming and going for a few weeks after I deleted a few rather unpleasant edit summaries from a page-move vandal. Evidently they haven't got bored of me yet! ] &#124; ] 14:39, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
::::I do... cause I've "travelled" there. :) She should know, she's a very smart lady. Alright, cool. The article is short, I know, it's not like Pitt, but if you got suggestions I'll be happy to hear them out. ;) Oh, I know. == War memorials in Surrey ==
== Misplaced Pages:Requests for permissions/Autoreviewer ==

Hi {{ping|HJ Mitchell}} Hope you are well and Happy New Year! {{u|Murgatroyd49}} and I have been thinking about the ] page, and whether it would be appropriate to split out the war memorials into their own list. There are currently over 70 war memorials listed on the page, but I think that there are at least another 50 (quite possibly another 100 more). A split would give us the opportunity to include indoor memorials – I know of about a dozen villages that don't have an outdoor monument but that do have a plaques inside their churches, for example.<br>
I flagged Floydian, and when I went to mark it as done, your notdone message edit-conflicted me. Do you want me to unflag him? ] (]) 19:56, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
We agree that if we are to go ahead, it would be worth rethinking the way that we format the list and considering what information should be displayed for each memorial. We have been playing around with some possible layouts at ]. We think it is worth exploring these options before formally proposing the split. Would you be able to drop by and let us know what you think please? We have started a discussion at ]. There is also the question of breaking up the table by grouping the memorials into different categories by design/appearance.<br>
:Nah. More effort than it's worth! :) I trust him, I only declined it because he hasn't created any new articles ''recently'', but those he has are of good quality, so I'm fine with it. ] &#124; ] 20:09, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
I have half an eye on a potential Featured List nomination in the very far future, so I am keen to make sure that any formatting and categorisation decisions we take now would not prevent a successful nomination.
::Goodl I've went ahead and nowikied your notdone and marked it done for the archival bot- I remember watching him fight through a tough FLC last month, actually. (Some place I need to get a list ready and go back to. Any lists you feel like working on?) ] (]) 20:16, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks and best wishes ] (]) 12:27, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
:::Now you mention it, since I brought ] up to GA, I wanted to get ] up to FL, but I struggled with some of the sourcing for chart positions. I'm also still harbouring ambitions for getting ] up to FA. ] &#124; ] 20:39, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
::::Hmm... I wonder about that. Per ] I am sure her discography is long enough for FLC. Of course, ] is the only former FL discography I can find that were delisted for length, and not sourcing, and Lohan's is a little longer than that one. That one turns on sourcing, and it is woefully incomplete... it would eb quite a challenge. ] (]) 20:55, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
:::::Indeed. Everything else is there, but not sources. It's the opposite to my usual style of gathering every source I can find and somehow building an article out of it! You up for a challenge or are you looking for something a little less complicated? ] &#124; ] 21:00, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
::::::Always! I've been tinkering with ] and ], but the sources are plentiful and readily available- they are truly just a matter of doing the work. (Well, and figuring out where that extra silver medal came from for the 1980 one). Some more challenging fare could be fun. ] (]) 21:38, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
:::::::Excellent! It'll be interesting, but I reckon between us we might be able to get it up to scratch. Btw, I just saw that AN thread where you blocked that ban-evading IP. That's hilarious! Nicely done! ] &#124; ] 21:43, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
::::::::I think I just got snookered into editing a music article! Not 36 hours after telling someone on my talk page that music was perhaps the field on WP I knew the least about regarding notability. (Of course, that might be due to the fact that, in my mind, if you're not as good as ], what's the point?) If I can help June get an FLC through about a movie I've never seen, I guess this fits my pattern perfectly. ] (]) 03:16, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

As to the recent vandalism, it wasn't me, or it wasn't my intent. I noticed the vandalism to the intro section of the FA and leaped in to fix it. It seems that several others were doing the same thing at the same time, and signals may have been crossed (it took an inordinately long time for the server to respond); maybe I undid someone else's simultaneous undo and restored the vandalism? No, no worries about your protection. When I'd looked at it I thought it was pretty constant vandalism, but I was thinking more about readers and less about editors - and I've been inclined to let the ] trial run as much as it can. IPBE request

My current IP range (Special:Contribs/223.177.0.0/16) was blocked by you last year. This is preventing me from moving pages, despite having moved pages until as recently as yesterday, and I haven't changed my connection since then. It seems that my IP was reassigned. Can you please grant me WP:IPBE so that I can continue my regular editing activities? Thanks! —CX Zoom 14:32, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

@CX Zoom I see the spam persists despite the block but it's probably not doing much at this point so I've made it anon-only. You shouldn't have any more problems. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:41, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

War memorials in Surrey

Hi @HJ Mitchell: Hope you are well and Happy New Year! Murgatroyd49 and I have been thinking about the List of public art in Surrey page, and whether it would be appropriate to split out the war memorials into their own list. There are currently over 70 war memorials listed on the page, but I think that there are at least another 50 (quite possibly another 100 more). A split would give us the opportunity to include indoor memorials – I know of about a dozen villages that don't have an outdoor monument but that do have a plaques inside their churches, for example.
We agree that if we are to go ahead, it would be worth rethinking the way that we format the list and considering what information should be displayed for each memorial. We have been playing around with some possible layouts at User:Murgatroyd49/sandbox3. We think it is worth exploring these options before formally proposing the split. Would you be able to drop by and let us know what you think please? We have started a discussion at User talk:Murgatroyd49/sandbox3. There is also the question of breaking up the table by grouping the memorials into different categories by design/appearance.
I have half an eye on a potential Featured List nomination in the very far future, so I am keen to make sure that any formatting and categorisation decisions we take now would not prevent a successful nomination. Thanks and best wishes Mertbiol (talk) 12:27, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
