: I say it makes very little sense to separate those in Russia from those in the Soviet Union. Countries, regimes, etc. come and go while universities remain unchanged. Would you, for example, have a cat for ''Cities in the Soviet Union'' in addition to the ''Cities in Russia'' cat? I am working on making subcats for Russian universities by the cities. ''Soviet Union'' just does not fit. I will post it CFD unless you can convince me otherwise. ] 09:16, 15 June 2007 (UTC) | : I say it makes very little sense to separate those in Russia from those in the Soviet Union. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Andreea Raducan 2002 Li Ning Cup Floor.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:Andreea Raducan 2002 Li Ning Cup Floor.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Eagle Nebula
Hello please weigh in on your 2006 change to the Eagle Nebula wherein you stated that the protostars are only found aplenty in that nebula. In particular, would you please provide a citation to back up this statement and review the current wording to make sure it is still accurate? Thanks. WilliamKF 20:24, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Images from www.gymnast.ru
Greetings, Cmapm! I noticed the images you uploaded a while ago from http://www.gymanst.ru/. They currently do not mention who the copyright holder is which is necessary per Misplaced Pages's policy regarding Misplaced Pages:Non-free content. I unfortunately cannot read Russian, so I cannot go to the website and discover who the copyright holder is. Is it the website owner? A photographer who licensed his/her images for the website? And in which country were they born and when was the photograph published? If you could help to answer these questions, I would appreciate it. Regards, Iamunknown 20:05, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
When you edit an article, make sure what you're editing is a clean revision :-)
Hi, when you edited North Pole in January you missed some vandalism, causing all subsequent editors to miss a section deletion (a very obvious one, too: "ocean between the Pole and Canada's therwise, until 1999..." --should be pretty obvious that there's something missing). I found the deleted text by wading through the article history and also the reason why other editors missed the deletion, because it was followed by a string of legitimate edits. :-) - ∅ (∅), 13:21, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Boxing Moscow 1980.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Boxing Moscow 1980.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Misplaced Pages articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Unspecified source for Image:Boxing Moscow 1980.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Boxing Moscow 1980.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Misplaced Pages:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:18, 16 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Estonian SSR. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. Fair use rationale for Image:Belarusfilm logo 1980.jpg

In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Estonian SSR
You have repeatedly reverted Estonian SSR into a less informative version based on WP:IDONTLIKEIT wrapped in bogus claims of policy violation. I have reported it on Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Cmapm on Estonian SSR.
You're welcome to comment on the issue there. Digwuren 19:40, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

A word of advice
- You are dealing with an extremely skillful opponent. Beware! Do not let yourshelf to be drawn into any trap, like WP:3RR.
- Be WP:CIVIL, even if your gut says otherwise.
- Do not expect talk pages, or other normal dispute resolution processes to produce any outcome. You will be talked to death.

Non-free use disputed for Image:International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.png
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:59, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
