Username block on User:AnAnonymousLogin

This user has requested to be unblocked and doesn't understand the reason for the block in the first place. Could you please leave him a more detailed reason for why his login is inappropriate? I have unblocked him so that he may communicate with you and seek a new username if need be.—WAvegetarian (talk) 08:59, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Martial art template?

Hi, I believe you were the first person to add the Wu Chien-ch'uan family tree. Do you mind if I try to template-ize it? Or if you want, you can do it too. I am also open to trying to update the format to something like the format on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange page. Well, let me know what you think. Benjwong 21:21, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Sigh. I tried the new format. But the branching got tricky at Wu Yu-hsiang and it just got too wide. It's best to just leave it alone the way it is. Pretty sure I can't do better, sry for the hype. Benjwong 03:33, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

continual, undiscussed deletion of material by user

I and other editors have added material to the Thích Quảng Đức article in regards to him being referenced in tv shows and music. However, User:Blnguyen continually, and without discussion, keeps on deleting the info on the grounds that it’s “a serious article about a serious political event which caused international attention and lead to a coup”. (see here) I have a feeling he is white-washing the page because of some sort of POV on politics and or Buddhism. Can you please contact him about this? (Ghostexorcist 06:06, 6 June 2007 (UTC))

Well, he hasn't answered my attempt to resolve the issue. (Ghostexorcist 11:38, 22 June 2007 (UTC))

You go! You certainly wanted to make sure that block stuck, didn't you? I'm impressed with that block... you're finding all the good stuff. Thanks for doing it, and thanks for being an admin. Philippe 03:21, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Wishbone Ash

Thank you for chiming in on the talk page. I was wondering if you could do me a favor on the page, since it is protected. I re-uploaded the image to the commons. The user was right about making the picture look better and I agreed, so I cropped the picture. The problem is the picture is scrunched now. I was hoping you could at "|landscape = yes" to the infobox to accommodate the new version. Cheers! -- moe.RON 05:55, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the show of support

Probably safer staying away. It's more now about the administrator's actions, anyhow. I do find using "Pimp" as a user name rather offensive to women. I get annoyed that Misplaced Pages lets stuff like this slide. Thank you for the show of support. KP Botany 21:53, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Well said. KP Botany 16:02, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Again, thanks. You don't have to involve yourself, but I respect you for picking a way to show support on the issue, a very important one. KP Botany 05:10, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Amazing what a little research will show, isn't it? Thanks you for not being silent when human beings destroy each other--it's ultimately our only hope as a species. KP Botany 19:34, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Falun Gong

Thanks. I really worry about this trend on Falun Gong and Li Hongzhi's articles, but it's not like we can do much about it at this point. To anyone who does not know the true story, FLG can continue to use the banner of human rights and their seemingly moral high ground over the Communist Party of China to make up anything they want. I say we let them.

This battle is not left for Misplaced Pages. Independent sources from both Hong Kong and Taiwan (surprise right?) have all done studies on Falun Gong, not to mention various cult study groups in the United States who have already declared Falun Gong a cult with a manipulative leader. And this trend is growing by the day as Falun Gong becomes more and more exposed.

Besides which, it is interesting to note that regardless of Falun Gong's existence, the CCP will likely not survive another large social upheaval, and one is likely to occur in the next few decades. Chinese leaders seriously have a lot more problems to deal with than worry about some cult-like organization that tries to tarnish their image in the west. Therefore, Falun Gong should actually pray to Master Li for the CCP to remain in power, because as soon as the CCP is ousted, independent sources will be quick to uncover Falun Gong's ridiculous claims. Let us wait for a few more decades. Colipon+(T) 02:24, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

I don't know where you are from, but here in Canada the Epoch Times has cancerous circulation. It can now be found at local SuperStores. Falun Gong is not only a new-age cult. Quite honestly, it is in fact a political organization which its leader chooses to mask in "spiritual benevolence", and has the luck and advantage to be going head-to-head with one of the more less reputable political parties in the western world: the CCP. The trend is terrifying. The believers are blind, and in turn, the general public here in the West are, in general, blind. People like David Kilgour and David Matas should spend their time and money to help develop Africa. Colipon+(T) 03:11, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Primary education

Thanks for sorting out the mess created by Mrs MacMan. She created absolute chaos over the last few days with her constant page moves and reverts, and it has taken up a huge amount of time sorting out all the mess she has created. The Primary education article is now sorted, and I've been able to update it with some new material. We do however still have a problem with the talk page as it is currently being redirected from Primary school and is labelled Primary school instead of Primary education. Could you possibly sort out the relevant redirects and move the copy to the Primary education page if you think it is appropriate. I want to create a new article for Primary school but can't do so until it has its own separate talk page. Many thanks. Dahliarose 12:50, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for sorting out the talk page. I think between us we've now managed to revert most of Mrs Mac's edits. There's one puzzling thing on the Talk:Primary education page which I haven't been able to unravel. Can you help? The Talk page is somehow included in the category "Educational stages" and I can't see an obvious way of removing it as the category doesn't seem to appear on the talk page. Dahliarose 14:34, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
I'll certainly let you know if Jessica/Mrs Mac pops up again. I think she is in fact a young school kid, and probably has no idea of the chaos she's caused. I hope she's at least learnt something from her recent experience. I noticed your test edits. It does seem odd that the category is still there. Presumably some of the techie people will be able to sort it out for us. Thank you again for all your help. Dahliarose 22:52, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for getting the stray category sorted. I should have spotted that. I thought I'd already searched the page but must have somehow missed it. Dahliarose 22:53, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
I've just spotted one further problem. The talk page for Primary school is currently titled Talk:Primary education. I suspect Primary school should probably have a blank talk page as all the discussion is duplicated on the primary education talk page. I'm not sure what's been going on here but it appears that the Primary education page was at some point renamed as Primary school, but it seems to have happened before our young friend Jessica came on the scene. Could you possibly sort it out? Dahliarose 23:02, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for sorting out the talk page. I've added a note with a link to the Primary education talk page. The page histories are a bit of a mess but there was very little in the way of meaningful content in either article so I don't think it really matters. The original article does in fact seem to have been titled primary school but confusingly dealt with primary education. At least now we have three separate sensible articles for primary education, primary school and elementary school so the same problem shouldn't arise in future if Jessica appears in another reincarnation. In spite of the mess she created she was in fact right that elementary and primary school are not synonymous and that they should have their own separate articles. Dahliarose 08:45, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the block

I'm still not sure what the original account name was, but here's a diff where another of the socks was reported from earlier today. It's been the same thing for at least a few days now. Called a workforall spammer there. --OnoremDil 04:55, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

You seem to have slipped up

This diff lacks a corrresponding block. One Night In Hackney303 10:16, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Ah, it didn't show in your logs either. As long as it's blocked, that's the important thing. One Night In Hackney303 13:59, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

User talk:DayToDie block

I understand that you suspect me of sockpuppet and had block me from editing Misplaced Pages's web pages. I am, however, not a sockpuppet. I personally know and support User:Marksirapat as he is in the same family as I am. I would like you to consider unblocking both accounts. Note: the only reason I was able to access this page is by using IP so please do not block the IP. 165.228.129.11 20:55, 21 June 2007 (UTC)User:DayToDie

Since you both made practically identical disruptive edits (claiming to be Misplaced Pages administrators with identical language for example), and both called youself "Mark" I'm not inclined to believe you. --Fire Star 火星 21:11, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

I had given my old User:Marksirapat to my brother and started a new one which is User:DayToDie. It seem the password had been change because I cannot access it. Whether you believe me or not, all I want to know is when (date and time) you will unblock me. Do not block this IP You may also talk to me at User_Talk:DayToDie

What do you think my chances are of getting Zhou Tong (archer) Featured status? The Wikiproject China currently has it as A-Class and the biography wikiproject has it as GA. I just expanded the page with more historical info.(Ghostexorcist 11:38, 22 June 2007 (UTC))

Team Colors

Fire Star-

I undid your revision on the Reggie Jackson site because in his specific case, I think that it is most appropriate to show Oakland colors. Jackson is one of those rare players whose identification is split evenly among the A's and Yankees. He is well-known as "Mr. October" in New York, and wears a NY cap in the Hall of Fame. However, he played more years in Oakland, won 3 titles in Oakland (versus 2 in New York) and finished his career for the A's in 1987. In fact, Jackson had originally intended to wear an A's cap in the Hall of Fame plaque, but had a falling out with A's management in 1991 and instead went to work for the Yankees and wear an NY cap. He has since reconciled with the A's, and his number is retired for both organizations. Since his page already shows a photo of him in a Yankees uniform, I think it would be most fair to show Oakland colors in the infobox, that way both teams are fairly represented.Pascack 21:11, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Pascack

Can you go to Reggie Jacksons and Jeff Nelson (baseball player) talk pages and vote for what colors they should have in there infoboxes--Yankees10 23:13, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Yankees10

User:Sacksofffifth

Not quite sure how "Sacks off fifth" is block-worthy? And the user in question is complaining quite vociferously on their talk page! --Steve (Stephen) 04:10, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

It's SACKS OFF FIFTH, not Sacks of Filth --Steve (Stephen) 22:17, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Good call, there may also be a few socks around... --Steve (Stephen) 22:28, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

the username is SacksoffiFth

not fiLth, fiFth, so you are wrong in your reasoning. And even if it was filth, that is abusing the right to block someone because of a username. Filth is not the common word for feces or poop.--TTNJ 19:56, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Well Steve here agrees with me. And a "literate" admin such as yourself should not have gotten an F and an L confused so easily, after Steve even spelled it out for you on your talk page. --TTNJ 22:20, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

um...

i am not condoning me saying that, but it is true that there are idiots on wikipedia who choose to exploit Alec Baldwin. And also, I have had a relatively good history so i do not think i should be quote "out of here" if I slip one more time. But whatever, admins are not robots. And I see that you have decided not to unblock Sacksofffifth, very well, whatever.--TTNJ 01:12, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Why you stupid idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't you ever think about deleting my page?!?!?! Wait... I give up. You win. Note: This headline is what I wanted to write.

Yeah, I can see where the confusion could come in. It's actually a nickname I've had for ever, but rest assured, my use has nothing to do with the slang definition you have provided. :) Thank you for not making me have to go through that tedious, confusing appeal cycle and have a nice day! Reiki: kiko and qigong

Fire Star, I've just put the following request on the Reiki talk page–thought you could help: Could you please confirm that there is a Japanese version of Qigong called kiko? I've put this in the text (History section) based on one book reference but I'd never heard of kiko and this use is not listed in WP's disambiguation page. Andy Beer 21:36, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

thank you!

for deleting that cartoon reference. I've watched the first episode, and "waterbending" looks nothing like any real style of tai chi. It's just all soft, flowing and circular. The definition should say, "Waterbending is based on tofu-taiji". VanTucky 03:36, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
