EVulva, I have not made official legal threats. Those come certified mail, and you would never see it anyway. As long as the official links remain, I am gone. Simple as that. Maybe sometime in the future, we will add to the page as it once was, but highly unlikely. But if you want to unblock this computer, that would be swell. It saves me from going to another network. Thank you for everyone here listening to the issue. My only "rude" behavior was a reflection to the people that presented it. You all actually shed a new light on the types of people that work on this project. Thanks and good luck. --- oh, and this "productive edit" is to remove the callout of the name in http://en.wikipedia.org/User_talk:Divadome The troll found a name, and thought it would be fun to scare us or something. But, I can delete the name off of it... what I have been trying to say is that the troll will revert it back to the offending version. whatever, I will make the call if I sense games are being played
Evula... I believe I just called you an online female reproductive organ. Not sure where that came from. It's ok, you can call me an edick. Peace

Why am I still here? trying not to be "rude"... but I do have to go. Will be back if any of my client links are removed.

Revision as of 02:39, 2 August 2007

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Misplaced Pages, as you did to User:Omicron8. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Tony Fox (arf!) 22:22, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Please do not attack other editors. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Misplaced Pages. --Longing.... 01:03, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Notice

You have been temporarily blocked from editing in accordance with Misplaced Pages's blocking policy for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

You've got to read this

Your complaints are valid. That is obvious from the editing history of the user you are complaining about. However, as you can see, you are getting in trouble from Misplaced Pages administrators because you broke some important rules that you probably didn't know about. So please, first review WP:CIVIL and WP:LEGAL. And then come back and read the rest of this comment.

Those rules do seem pedantic, but I guarantee that if you personally attack other editors, even vandals or trolls, or make literally any kind of legal threat, the administrators are going to block you from editing. Once you get blocked at one username or IP address, if they catch you evading that they will undo your edits -- even if you were reverting apparent vandalism.

On the other hand, if you don't make personal attacks or legal threats, and explain what is going on at WP:ANI (instead of WP:JIMBO) I guarantee that the administrators will help you -- and probably block the troll instead of you.

Like I said, your complaints are valid. There is obviously someone trolling you by removing the links to celebrities' official sites you maintain. There is no excuse for that and I have warned the vandalizing troll.

I know that I'm the first person to communicate with you directly instead of using a boilerplate template, so I hope you'll please take my words to heart. It is so easy to accomplish things here if you stay calm -- but believe be I know how hard that can be when someone is trying to undermine your work like that.

I wish you the best of luck. ←Ben 01:19, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

THANK YOU for PAYING ATTENTION!

Luckily these morons only know about two celebs I work for, and NONE of my clients could care less about wiki. What we all care about is the link to the official site so the option for true and relevant information is available to them. We don't have time to play the wiki-troll game. So, YES, you can see the history of this omnitroll, and that username was created JUST for editing those two pages. I expect the user terminated, and the connecting profiles to be found and terminated. You can see the moronic trail they left in the history, regardless of username. It's all the same trolls.

Again, we could care less about anything this site offers, but if information of my clients is going to be posted, the link to the official pages MUST be included.

See to it that the links are NEVER removed, and you will NEVER see me again. Simple as that.

I have several systems to choose from, so edits are never an issue. Block my ass, and I will still shit on the trolls.

Thanks again!

  • I agree, attacking users outright like you did is not the way to be heard - it will get you banned and slapped with a "boilerplate template"! Like Ben said, your complaints are valid, the site should be there and I'll keep it in place until your ban is lifted. But don't attack other users! :P Marc 01:29, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

1- See WP:AGF, WP:CIV, and WP:NPA, which you are clearly going against. They WILL NOT help you. Remain calm, and reasonable, and you will have the best result. 2- Also see WP:OWN. You have no right to decide what is or is not a part of the article. 3- See WP:SOCK. Blatantly threatening to use sockpuppets to disrupt wikipedia WILL get you blocked far quicker than anything else you could do. There are half a dozen reasonable ways to go about this, the way you are going now is not one of them. --Longing.... 01:32, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
2- All he did was add the offical site...which almost every single site has a link to. Yes he doesnt have the RIGHT to decide, but his edit was constructive.Marc 01:35, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
To be blunt, it's not what he added, it's how he added it. Yes, the link should be in the article. However, saying that it "MUST be included" is wrong, and WP:OWNing it, not to mention a WP:THREAT which automatically results in an indef block. Nobody is against him stopping these sock/meatpuppets, it is the way he is going about it, and quite frankly, I'd rather deal with a polite and well informed vandal than a rude policy hater who's technically right --Longing.... 01:48, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

For the record, we tried "calm and reasonable" many times. However, when you have a vigilant troll that recruits his "friends" into a swarm, they are all one in the same to me. I personally, one on one, had a lengthy discussion with Jim Wales. It does not get any more serious than that. He overrode everything bye everyone, himself, while I waited. This due to the fact that I DID involve legal entities and board members. I was heard. But I refuse to involve him again in this bullshit. YOU all need to take a step back and see the big picture. It's great that you are invested in this project, but you really have to evaluate the situation a LOT longer before you start blocking people. You are equal to anyone that uses this site. Unfortunately, some have need for grandiose attention. -- anyway, I am beyond a nice guy, and the celebs I work for are beyond nice people that don't deserve ANY of this crap. Sam Harris for example, if you go way back, had a great page going, and the same trolls have edited it down to a couple lines. Fine with me, but, the link to the official web site MUST and will always stay. It's common sense, and as I have always said, not a discussion. Stating a fact is not being rude. This includes stating the fact that a person is a moronic troll. Thanks again for your help. I'm kinda not into chatting and checking these message board things. As long as the links I place are kept, that's all I care about.

And simply reporting them to WP:AIV would've been effective. Simply put, you are being blocked for blocking numerous policies, not the least of which is WP:THREAT. If you have a beef, feel free to ask the Wikimedia foundation to make a WP:OFFICE action to protect the links, even just a line saying <!-- The following link is not to be removed, or you will be banned. Thanks, WP:OFFICE --> <!-- Removing the above link will get you banned instantly, thanks, WP:OFFICE--> would work wonders. Being rude, flinging obscenities and talking shit about people will only get you blocked (yes, they're moronic trolls, but insulting other wikipedians is not allowed), and especially making legal threats. As has been noted, if you want to make legal threats, feel free to do it, but talk to Wikimedia's lawyers, not Wikipedians, we cannot allow legal decisions to be made in Misplaced Pages, not to mention WANAL. As it is now, unblocking you would be a potential breach of policy, a legal risk, and just plain irresponsible. --Longing.... 02:09, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

"L" ..THANKS... will never do anything but use a telephone as I did before. I don't want to bother Jim, but will if I have to. And I am sorry, I do not care about, want to learn or will ever use CODE. I thank you for all the links and <nowikitroll> stuff etc, (I don't even know or care about how to post in this friggin message thing) but I will never use any of it. I once had a fantastic coded page for my clients, and it's all gone, without warning or reason. Now all I care about is the link. Here we are babbling on and on, and the only thing that matters here is that the official site URL will always be on the page, no matter what. I will always make sure of it. That's what I am getting paid for right this moment. Cursing and all. Peace

I was referring to the WP:OFFICE, neither of us have the authority to make statements such as "edit this and be banned". And I'd recommend you not curse, it looks bad on your clients. And yes, honestly, you should stick to your telephone. If you don't want to learn how to use Misplaced Pages, Wikipedians will become annoyed with you very fast. Your lack of respect for basic WP:TALK guidelines is already annoying, to be frank. --Longing.... 02:21, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

--- L (i have no idea what your username is) none of this is about disrespect for people that make valid edits to wiki. I was disrespected, or I would not be here. Easy.. leave the link alone.. problem solved. If it ever disappears, I will be back. -- sorry, this message thing is driving me nuts... are we almost done talking?

--- I expect this page to be edited to a blank page: http://en.wikipedia.org/User_talk:Divadome as I will not allow the name they extracted to be posted as such. Either one of you do it, or I will do it my way. Thanks!

See WP:OVERSIGHT for that. -_Longing.... 02:09, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

-- for the hell of it, I looked at it and that reads pure headache to me. Sorry, I will just delete the name myself if you don't want to. Could care less about the page part of it, the name will go.

If you can not make further legal threats, I'd be fine with unblocking you so that you can resume productive editing. EVula // talk // // 02:12, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
