WarthogDemon is currently wikibonked and is operating at a lower edit level than usual. Hitting the wall is a temporary condition, and hopefully he'll stop acting weird and return to normal. |

transwiki
You left a comment on my talk page... Just because it doesn't come up in Google doesn't mean it doesn't exist. As for the date - I interpreted that as the article creation date by a newbie rather than the creation date of the word. At any rate, the word doesn't get into Wiktionary without manual curation by an editor; what happens is that it goes into a transwiki log and awaits a person picking it up and completing the transwiki process. So transwikification is not an automatic contamination of Wiktionary. Regards, --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:46, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Re:G4
Well, nothing seems to have happened so I've tagged it as no content (a3). It was deleted as copyvio, and recreated with the hangon tag. What that seemed to suggest was that perhaps a non-copyvio version was being written; sometimes speedy articles (especially copyvios) are deleted and then recreated with different content, which is why G4 doesn't apply to speedies. The reason I replaced hangon with under construction is because I always interpret creating a page with a hangon tag to mean "i'm working on this, don't delete it yet", even though the result is almost always speediable, it's assuming good faith I guess. - Zeibura 23:36, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Speedies
I meant to put a prod on them, and Ive just done that. It's usually worth trying--there's a 50% chance that the people realize and don't contest it. Just watchlist and if they do remove the tag, AfD. Frankly, I look at too many to keep track of everything myself & I rely on others--this is wrong of me, but.... (And I was going to mention, yes, you seem to have gotten a little impatient the last week. ) If you want an interesting variation on patrolling, try following one of the subject-oriented new page logs at User:AlexNewArtBot--it will show the ones that get missed in the first round. Lots of missed copyvios in most of them. But even for copyvio, if it's something really important, I stubify & write a note to the author; if it isnt important, it's a clear-cut way to remove it. If they care, they'll rewrite. DGG (talk) 04:04, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Revert warring (over Ho-Oh)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Ho-Oh. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. - Since you refuse to try to justify your actions, I will sum up my evaluatation. You were going around
shoddilybulk merging articles, leaving out important information because you didn't even bother to read the articles properly. Thus you missed the vital point that Ho-Oh is also a name for Fenghuang and thus some kind of disambiguation is required. When an editor reverts the merge and tries to tell you this, instead of attempting to understand the issue you just revert him back and tell him to talk to someone else. You know about the 3rr so ironically you feel no need to discuss or understand the problem yourself, you merely revert three times and then call in a friend who has even less idea what is going on than you do but is happy to use their 3 reverts on your behalf. Attacks on the Final Boss of the Internet (Retrieved From Userpage)
Warthog Demon, while trying to attain manpoints, decided to attack the true final boss of the internet and win at the internets. Well he failed hard and was promptly told to GTFO the internets. Maybe if you use level select you can get back to the final boss and try to beat him again. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.36.223.4 (talk • contribs).

User page prods
How do I do it so (relatively) quickly? Tabbed browsing (where I set up candidate pages) and a Word file of twenty or so pieces of tag text (easily altered, usually, to fit every occasion). Of course, it takes a fair amount of time to work out WHERE to find the candidate pages in the first place: what you're seeing is merely the repetitive end process. --Calton | Talk 04:26, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Howdy, Warthog Demon!
Just got your smile and many thanks for it! I was just coming to the end of a productive Wiki-Evening, and that was a nice warm fuzzy to top it off. I was trying to teach myself how to make an infobox. It was getting to the point where I was maybe just a little too drowsy to be reading instruction manuals (and I suspect that I am an undiagnosed ADD, even something akin to dyslexia, because for as much as I enjoy reading I have trouble sometimes just tracking the lines...but you didn't need to know that....). Anyhow...like it so often happens, just as I was getting really frustrated I NOTICED SOMETHING. And now it works. Yea! I hope you're having a good Wiki-Night yourself, and thanks again! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by PurpleChez (talk • contribs).

Lyrics
I don't claim to be any sort of expert on the subject of copyrights but here are my 2 cents. The first thing to do is to verify whether this is indeed a song written by Norman Martin and not just an old folk song which he made famous. That issue I can't help you settle. If it is his work then the lyrics are most likely copyright and posting them here is in principle a copyright violation. I say in principle because in this specific case, they are posted for critical commentary, for comparison with other variants and for comparison with other infinite songs. It's also such a well-known song that it would be unreasonnable to argue that their publication here has any sort of impact for M. Martin's rights to these lyrics. As such, my uneducated guess is that it is acceptable. Pascal.Tesson 04:21, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Re:The song that never ends
Good question. I don't believe that the lyrics to campfire versions are protected by copyright as they have not been published and/or registered. However, the original lyrics probably are. Do a Google search to see if you find anything. Keegan 05:02, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

PROD contested
You had {{prod}}'ed the article Doseuro. This was contested after the fact at DRV, and the article has now been restored. If you continue to believe that the article has been deleted, you should do an AFD nomination. (I don't think it speediable under any of the criteria for speedy deletion.) RE: Smile Face Time!
Thank for the smile! This could possibly be an imitator of that vandal. I'm blocking anyway, no need to see the duplication of vandalism we saw ages ago.¤~Persian Poet Gal 22:20, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Here is a policy that makes it not eligible for deletion, "Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such. " Both Gary Hodges and Tom Moncrieff were part of Buckingham Nicks. The producer and backup vocalist Charlie Chalmers has also been a major player in the soul music industry with uncountable hits stemming from the 1950's on. This is reason enough not to delete. The wording and position looks fine. With a bit of luck it might help. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 01:10, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Zeitgeist The Movie
Thanks for pointing that out. I've salted the page. Just a little note: In the future, it helps to use the optional parameter of {{db-repost}} − e.g., {{db-repost|Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Zeigeist the Movie}} — when the re-creation is under a different title; this helps admins to find the original deletion discussion. In any case, thanks for pointing out the repost! — TKD::Talk 01:18, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
template
I'm not sure, but there is Template:Uw-trivia, which asks users not to add meaningless trivia, which kind of covers that topic. There might be one in the deprecated Template:TestTemplates. Natalie 03:39, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

If it's missing copyright info, use {{subst:nld}}. If it's missing source info, but it has tags, use {{subst:nsd}}. Cheers. enochlau (talk) 03:44, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
"Boy or Girl"
Groucho questioning Chico on the witness stand in Duck Soup:
- Groucho: Now, what is it that has four pair of pants, lives in Philadelphia, and it never rains but it pours?
- Chico: Atsa good one. I give you three guesses.
- Groucho: Now, let me see... has four pair of pants, lives in Philadelphia.... Is it male or female?
- Chico: No, I no think so.

Emerson Flag Co.
I declined speedy on this one, they assert (a) oldest X west of the Mississippi, (b) an Olympic sponsorship, and (c) inventing NFL team flags. All unsourced, as usual, heck they should have said they made the flags on the moon. Anyway, feel free to Afd this one, I did tag for sourcing and notability already, but an afd is probably in order. Your call. Cheers, Carlossuarez46 17:09, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Re: Wow, And I Mean WOW....
Re your message: It started over here. Snowballed since then. Just an FYI, but you might want to look at my protection log. -- Gogo Dodo 17:30, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
