Your Billboard is being moved... :-)
Hey, Homer, hope it's going good. As you may have noticed, I removed your billboard from my page. Don't worry, I'm putting it back when Phaedriel redesigns my page! I put a block of text I thought was insightful in place of the billboard (and again, this is temporary). Just thought you may have wanted to know. Cheers - Ανέκδοτο 00:29, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Radio site
Per Meta request (& in case you don't look there for a bit), give the radio site link a try again will you and let me know. I think it should work now (& sorry to take a while), thanks --Herby 10:16, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- No problem - glad to help, cheers --Herby 08:55, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
Information request
Hi,
I noticed your request for information on a contributor to Misplaced Pages. I thought I'd drop a line as well as the one by the administrator you contacted.
As a rule, Misplaced Pages is tightly bound by the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. In general, no information is ever released outside those guidelines. To underpin that, even the administrators themselves are not allowed to know more information on identity than you yourself can see -- this is restricted to a very small group of editors who can look behind a username to an IP address, and these operate under a tight code of mutual cross-checking and would be instantly stripped of such rights for even hinting about location or other information they could tell from an IP, if it contravened that policy.
Part of the reason for this is that Misplaced Pages is accessed, and edited, by a wide range of users, often in countries where the laws are not as generous towards free speech as one might expect here. As a rule, vandalism, including defamatory or unpleasant comments, is handled by the editorial community, which deals with such cases as a matter of routine. I've listed some resources you might find helpful, and it's likely if the comments are unhelpful, or blatently damaging, that you will be able to obtain speedy rectification.
Having reviewed the edits in question though, I can suggest that whilst annoying to you, they are not of a standard that merits more than usual editorial handling - revert them or seek dispute resolution or (if constantly being added in bad faith) administrator input from the noticeboard. Details of all these are below.
- Resources
-
- Foundation privacy policy - applies above all
- Biography of Living People policy - unlikely to apply but may be useful as reference
- Dispute resolution -- how disputes are handled between editors.
- Vandalism policy and blocking policy
- Administrator's noticeboard for Incidents - for speedy admin response to an incident. Do not overuse, but worth knowing it's there for legitimate appropriate need.
- Oversight - for genuine breaches of privacy and the like, in some cases a revision can be deleted completely.
- OTRS - contacting the Foundation ticket service via OTRS. They are less likely to be able to help, since this would usually be considered an editorial issue, but all emails are taken seriously and if you decided to take it further they would be your contact outside the editorial community.
- Misplaced Pages's policy on actual legal threats - broadly an editor who actually says "I will sue you" or "I will take legal action" in a manner that is a cogent threat to do so, should not edit until the matter is resolved or withdrawn. Worth ensuring you know about given your obvious anger towards this person.
Hopefully one or some of these will help. You've probably come across many of them already here and there. If you need to know more or want further advice on handling, please do ask.
Yours,
FT2 06:45, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
Pauley Perrette
Hi Neutralhomer, I've left your edit to the Pauley Perrette page, but I was wondering if you have a source for the documentary? Thanks! RainbowOfLight 01:30, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Fair use photo.
Re . I'm not quite up to speed on fair-use so it may be better to ask an active user from Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Fair use#Participants. Ideally we'd like a GFDL photo taken by a Wikipedian, or have an existing photo of her released to that license. -- Jeandré, 2007-10-11t09:20z
- I don't know enough to safely determine image or difficult fair-use cases, but I'm sure the Metallica clip doesn't qualify since it seems to be the entire video, at a not too shabby resolution. -- Jeandré, 2007-10-11t09:28z
Re: In radio
Thanks for the attention. Granted, probably not all changes (format flips, etc.) will fit on these, but it is conceivable. Definitely the more noteworthy stations. If you can help, by all means do. I'm also adding births and deaths too.
Another thing I'm working on is this. It involves organizing stations by year of initial sign-on date. Yeah, it is pretty crazy. --Fightingirish 03:32, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Rhode Island list
Just an FYI - I'm headed to bed for the night; hopefully the arguments don't get too one-sided, eh? hehe. JPG-GR 06:22, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
WAVA
Why did you undo the merge of WAVA (AM) and WAVA-FM? They are simulcasts of each other so it makes sense to merge them together.--Rtphokie 00:20, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Understand your wanting the technical details and history to remain. History has been merged into WAVA-FM and the technical details are merged into the infobox there as well. If I missed anything let me know.--Rtphokie 01:21, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Looks great, thanks for fixing that up. BTW, I put together a quick a dirty php script to assist in creating stub pages for US radio stations that need articles. You can try it out if you like here http://rtphokie.org/dis/radio.html . It gives you the text that can be cut and pasted in. You'll have to wait until tomorrow to try it though, it parses information from Radio Locator which limits the number of daily queries that can come from a single host. I exhausted that today adding a bunch of stations in NC. Try it tomorrow and let me know what you think of the template it produces.--Rtphokie 01:39, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

WPVA stuff
Hey again. Thanks for the heads up on the station articles - I look forward to seeing them pop up on the assessments log.
There is a WPVA newsletter, but we've been pretty bad about getting it out regularly. So, you haven't missed it. I hope we get one out in the next week or so, and you are definitely on the list.--Kubigula (talk) 02:57, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
WYMT-TV
Sorry I'm late -- by the looks of things, I'd leave them be. According to his talk page comments, though, he generally shows a bias with the station, which has been confirmed with a whois search. Personally, if he adds stuff, I say its okay, but if he deletes items without reason, revert, and let him know on his talk page. -- azumanga 02:58, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Arbitron rankings
No problem... I was just blindly going through them since there are 302 of them (and Johnstown PA dropped out making it very complicated). :-) I will go through them again once I get through.. so far #257 out of #300 and getting sleepy. :-) --Jjc104 03:01, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
I made one more WV change. Beckley is now #296. I will go through one more time after work. Must pay bills. :-) Take care. --Jjc104 11:35, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
By the way, I didn't know if it was good to keep Johnstown's last rank before becoming unranked. This way we would know it was an Arbitron market at one point. (Similar ones that dropped out include Blacksburg, VA, Springfield, IL, Great Falls, MT, etc... Anyway, I can't figure out how Arbitron does their rankings. It seems previously unranked markets can go as very high as well (See Wenatchee WA, Grand Island NE, and Manhattan KS). Take care. --Jjc104 11:40, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Userpage
I see it at the top; it's likely your browser. If you close your browser, or more drastically reboot, it will likely go away. If not, then I'm not certain what it could be. Good Luck! -- Avi 01:48, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Apology
I'm very sorry for mis-interpreting WP:UP. You are correct that you can remove warnings that I place; that is in fact the preferred practice. I was originally reverting you edit (oldid=165107875)that listed the HAAT as the ERP. I'm sorry that my ignorance caused this to become a larger issue. Thanks so much.

WWIL-LP
You mentioned WWIL-LP in comments when creating the disambiguation page for WWIL, I cant find anything on WWIL-LP, it doesn't appear to be in the FCC database. Any pointers?--Rtphokie 11:53, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- Nothing. I would just to say. Anyway...--Sabri76 18:03, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
wsaz edite
how could u say its vandlism when im trying to improve the article about wsaz when its talking about the tournament under corporate sponsorship, often should be changed anyways because each year it does draw out of state, the link is not a pay site that im redirecting people towards. it is the tournament website that the station had me do.
