Big Brass Balls

You said what we were all thinking. And you did it. MessedRocker (talk) 01:21, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Restoration

I am not going to stop you. However, understand that if Wordbomb/Bagley attempts to reply on the page the page will be immediately fully protected. JoshuaZ 00:30, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

That makes sense to me - does it also make sense to just restore and fully protect? Privatemusings 00:38, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Done. That was a good suggestion. JoshuaZ 00:43, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Request for unmasking

Administrator El C has requested you email him your identity. Feel free to comply with this, but if you want to preserve your anonymity, I would suggest that you could also let them do a checkuser to confirm you and I are different. Or, you could privately reveal your identity to any administrator your trust to keep your identity to themselves, and that admin could vouch for the PM account being a proper use of a sockpuppet. (of course, maybe El C is an administrator who you trust in that regard, in which case this whole post is academic. :) )-- Alecmconroy 04:12, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up, Alec - I've email El C. Privatemusings 06:33, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

We're all good here. El_C 10:53, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

thanks El 'n Al. Privatemusings 11:31, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

David Tennant

You joked that you were David Tennant. Hey you know on Doctor Who he should go back to the end of the universe and then release carrionites there (remember he has them trapped in a crystal ball inside his Tardis?) an have them use their magic to ressurect the universe. I think this is a good idea. I wonder if I can contact the doctor who writers to tell them this. William Ortiz 04:27, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Good Luck! Privatemusings 05:06, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

RE: Hello El_C

If you have a spare couple of minutes, I wonder if you'd mind returning to Misplaced Pages:Linking to external harassment for a moment. A new editor by the name of User:Semiprivatemusings has popped up, and would seem to be intending to be quite active on this issue. I've asked her or him to try to avoid confusion between us, but perhaps a neutral voice would be received better. Thanks in advance. Privatemusings 21:44, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Blocked for those reasons. El_C 22:07, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Blocked for those reasons, again. El_C 23:25, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

ANI mention

You are mentioned (not badly) at WP:ANI#SPA. Milto LOL pia 05:30, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Gosh, if it's not semi-private, then it's simplified! - remember there's only one original Privatemusings! Privatemusings 05:58, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Cool - you're no doubt not the only one! Privatemusings 01:59, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

btw. the 'cool' above was intended to mean 'of course I'll do that', not 'i'm happy to be driving you crazy.' Just to clarify. Privatemusings 03:48, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

NPA provision

Please indicate if you have any objection to the proposed text: "Linking to external attacks or harassment for the purpose of attacking another editor is regarded as a personal attack and faces the same restrictions as an on-wiki attack". Blocked

OK, this has gone on long enough. It is acceptable, under certain circumstances, to use an alternate account for the specific purpose of engaging in debate on contentious subject where one feels that harassment or other problems may result from your contributions. Participation in some arbitration cases would meet that definition, provided of course that you let the arbitrators know the back story. What you have been doing, however, is inflaming a dispute which is being calmly settled by reference to canonical policy, and (more importantly) stepping outside of the boundaries you set yourself in order to take that dispute to specific content, including in this case edit-warring over links to a blog which repeats a baseless accusation made as part of an ongoing harassment campaign. If you want to contribute to content debates, do it with your main account. The arbitration case is over, the issue of BADSITES is dead, people are moving on to a more reflective and nuanced approach, so your alternate acount is no longer required for its stated purpose, and its existence as a self-admitted alternate account is acting to escalate rather than defuse disputes. Email me privvately to lift the resultant autoblocks. Guy (Help!) 22:55, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Please see the below, Guy. Your points are to a degree valid, but the decision to indefinitely block is outrageous. The irony is that I appreciate your effort to engage in discussion about whether or not use of this account is appropriate, but your action is so hugely aggressive and out of line as to seriously undermine your position. I feel attacked, and an indefinite block hurts - why did you do that?
I hope you will immediately revert this, a crazy mistake. Privatemusings 23:09, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

I am furious.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I am furious. I have been blocked indefinitely by JzG, with the remark 'This has gone on long enough'. Presumably he refers to my editing wikipedia using an alternative account. I have been entirely open about this, and given clear reasons why I have made this choice (wanting to engage in. These reasons are also clearly written into WP:SOCK#Legitimate_uses_of_multiple_accounts. I would like to add that I have privately emailed JzG over a week ago, letting him know my editing history - I have also previously emailed El C in this regard. I received a very pleasant response from El C, but no response whatsoever from JzG. Aside from the discourtesy, to follow up with an indefinite block from nowhere seems to me to be outrageous. I would like to return to editing.

Decline reason:

Feel free to edit Misplaced Pages with your primary account. Your use of this second account -- primarily to carry on and exacerbate drama -- is not acceptable. — jpgordon 23:13, 31 October 2007 (UTC)}

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
