== Closing an AfD as speedy keep ==
Greetings, fellow administricrator. This message has been addressed to you since you happened to be around, and will be used to bug other people if you're busy.
I haven't closed deletion nominations before, having been trying to get a grip on lesser functions, but found an article AfD'd today that survived another (as nc) just five weeks ago - highly premature. Would it be proper for me to close it on this basis, and do I need to quote some huge deletion policy page that I don't know about yet? --] 06:59, 6 November 2007 (UTC) |

Deleted Entry
Jim: Could you please explain why you deleted my page? I didn't even have time to amend the page before it went up in smoke.
Thanks - OpethRulz 18:01, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Changes
Jim: Thanks for the rapid reply. My entry is in the same category as the approved entry for Seredyn . Could you please indicate what's missing in my entry as compared to that one and what I need to edit in (or out) to gain approval? Oh, and how do I resubmit the entry with changes? Is there a special page for that?
Thanks again Jim - OpethRulz 18:28, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Alexander Robinson
Hi Jim, could you do me a favour. Back in May you deleted an article I was writing. It was at Alexander Robinson. That page is currently protected to prevent recreation. I have written the article here, and while it's not 100% ready to go into the mainspace, thought I'd ask you to unprotect the page while I remember. Cheers. Stu 20:18, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Delayed Thanks and Question
Dear Jimfbleak,
First of all, thank you for reviewing my California Condor article and helping to promote it to FA status a few months ago. I know my thanks are a bit delayed, but better late than never! Second, I’ve currently got another New World Vulture article, King Vulture, up for FA status and was wondering if you would be interested in reviewing it. I know that you are busy, but so far only three people have done so. Any comments and criticism on this article would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rufous-crowned Sparrow 00:51, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for reviewing (and supporting) the King Vulture article. I went ahead and made the relationships section singular, but for your other comment I'm not sure what to do. The source cited is the only one of all the stuff I've read that says that King Vultures are unagressive, while everything comments on how it displaces the other vultures. I took this as meaning that the aura of the vulture due to its bill and size is enough to scare the others away. Does this sound reasonable, or should I delete the unagressive thing? Thanks. Malfunctioning Spam Bot
I can only assuming that you have an anti-spam bot that is malfunctioning and is erasing non-spam pages. Please blacklist "Steve James (musician)", I am trying to create that page.Sacham 06:52, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
I was under the impression that wikipedians were supposed to help each other, not delete pages 2 minutes after creation, twice in a row. A 5 second Google search would have uncovered your required notability. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sacham (talk • contribs) 07:07, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Entry deleted again?
Dear Jim: The page for Panicyl seems to have been deleted again after your last comment regarding direct links to references. I was about to update those links but now the article is gone. Any idea of what happened?
Thanks -

Aerodramus
I've been assessing some of the bird articles and have noticed that while the Aerodramus article that you wrote has some in-line citations, they are not listed at the bottom. Could you fix that? Also, great job on the page- it may be the best bird non-monotypic genus page that I have seen. Thanks. Rufous-crowned Sparrow 01:39, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
3RR
Hi Jim. I don't quite understand the WP:3RR This means a user cannot make 3 reverts in a 24 hour period? What happens if those edits on the page where made by a vandal? Then would it be alright to make 3 or more reverts on that page? Why do they even have this rule anyways? King Lopez 09:38, 25 October 2007 (UTC) Studiocom
- Yes I am thinking about running for adminship. But I think I should wait a few more months. I am still worried about this But I am sorry for my previous behavior and I did learn from it. But what do you think? King Lopez 09:55, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Rubix chump
Jim, just a quick question, wondering why you deleted my page? surely fantasty characters can be interperated on wiki as well? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Megalock (talk • contribs) 14:50, 26 October 2007 (UTC)<!- - Template:Unsigned -->

Rook (bird)
Please note that there is a long established agreed convention on wikipedia that bird species are always fully capitalised - see the bird project page. Jimfbleak 14:15, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
That's fascinating! I did a quick check and found that you are right. But I'm not so sure that ornithology convention is being correctly applied. Having had a quick look at a couple of ornithology websites and books I can see that the first mention of a bird has the name in capitals followed by the latin name - thereafter it appears that the name is given conventionally in lower case. Has there been a misunderstanding of the convention in the case of the Rook article - and the capitisation been applied rather too rigidly? Regards. SilkTork *SilkyTalk 17:44, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Some quick links: Manual of Ornithology: Avian Structure and Function, Centre for ornithology, BTO. Am I misunderstanding the convention? When the bird names are used in lower case in the examples shown, are they being used in a different manner to when they are capitalised? Such as the birds are being talked about generally, rather than specifically? SilkTork *SilkyTalk 18:03, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Deletion of South Terrace, Adelaide
Please explain the deletion of South Terrace, Adelaide? The street is one of the "borders" of the city. It was created as a stub for expansion.--Borgarde 09:09, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Deleting IIMA-Exchanges
Thanx for the information. It's not an ad but should be an information platform for some students. But it's probably more appropriate to put it on a private wiki. I'll go for edithis. Regards, Hendrik
Aerodramus
After 10 years I let down my guard and spilt some coffee on my laptop keyboard. Was unable to login and just made up a rough sketch of a Collocalia unicolor based on Rasmussen and Anderton. My LCD screen is not calibrated and it is hard to get subtle shade differences and it looks like the mediawiki SVG renderer is having some hiccups with antialiasing. Will try to improve on the image over time. Shyamal 11:07, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Rayleigh interferometer
Hi. Last night while checking the new pages, I found Rayleigh interferometer (a pure copy paste of the company's product info) and Rayleigh's interferometers which was rewritten enough to get past the auto bot to detect the copyright violation. I dominated both for CSD, with the first under copyright violation and the second as spam since it seemed the owner was just shoving in articles about his product. Rayleigh interferometer was deleted quickly, but I noticed you removed the CSD from Rayleigh's interferometers and instead started editing it. Yet it has no sources and has no notability from what I can tell, so why was it also not CSDed? Collectonian 17:13, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Massachusetts flying club deletion
Could you please explain the deletion of my page about the Massachusetts flying club? It was NOT and advertisement, the statement "Soon became one of the most popular flight clubs on FSTopgun" can be bakced by the amount of members it had in comparison to other flight clubs on that server. if you clould please explain this, it would be much appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.239.12.96 (talk) 17:32, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Podiobooks.com
Howdy sir, I can't find any record of why my Podiobooks.com entry was deleted. Please explain. I answered criteria in reply. Entry does meet wiki requirements. Thank you. ElizaBarrington 21:31, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
ASP : Events Division
Hi - you deleted my entry for ASP, that's fine I am new to submitting to Wiki.
I was wondering 2 things:
1) Can I have the text back so I can edit 2) Other companies have brief descriptions and entries - how can I make mine acceptable?
Many thanks for you time.
Regards
Arran

deleted entry
Jim, I added an entry for Investor Awareness Index and it was deleted before I was able to go back in and edit it. I added lots of info b/c I wanted to have it on the page in fear of losing it since I'm a newbie to Misplaced Pages. I would like to create a factual reference for Investor Awareness Index and will reference it and will provide at least three other linked references. Please let me know what I need to do at this point. Thanks, Louis --Louiswonderfulworld 00:56, 6 November 2007 (UTC) User:LouisWonderfulworld 16:53, 5 November 2007
