Do you think we're anywhere near an indef block for this guy? He's got a pretty long and disruptive history. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 00:24, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Sure, I'm all about "one more chance" (in fact, you may have noticed that right before you blocked him, I warned him that he only had "one more chance" - I endorse your block, though). And it's a very weird thing that he's edit-warring over; who wants to undermine Mike Gravel? He's really not a threat to anyone. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 00:32, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Hello

Someone keeps posting my personal information on my talk page. I do not want any random hacker to see it and I have no idea who put it there. Could you please block the person doing this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.151.12.169 (talk) 00:51, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Its amazing how quickly pasting in a WHOIS will stop random vandals.--mitrebox (talk) 01:13, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

WP:RPP

I noticed you're a new admin who's been helping out here recently, and wanted to leave you some sage advice from more articulate people than me; my distilled point would be that there are alternate avenues than protection, but it's not like I don't do the latter often. :-) east.718 at 03:34, February 1, 2008

Nah, nothing specific. I just saw a sea of green pluses on RPP and a lot of unfamiliar names and figured that a new batch of admins had showed up with their trademark enthusiasm. :D east.718 at 03:54, February 1, 2008
I guess your enormous sig gravitated my attention towards you. :O east.718 at 05:57, February 1, 2008
If you're using <br /> solely to ensure that your signature doesn't break across lines, can you please replace it with <span style="white-space:nowrap">?— Preceding unsigned comment added by east718 (talkcontribs)
<span style="white-space:nowrap">] ''] ♦ ]''</span> - guess for what reason I was asked to use this alternative method on my own sig? :-D east.718 at 07:37, February 1, 2008
It forces linebreaks, which honestly looks horrible - I have this setup for work and it significantly disrupts reading for me. With the nowrap method, linebreaks will be forced only when your sig would be broken up otherwise and keep it intact at the same time. I actually used to use the BR hack myself until people started complaining and I found out about nowrap, which works just as good without any side effects. east.718 at 08:08, February 1, 2008

Invitation to discussion about possible COI of editors

Disruptive user

Hey Gonzo I would just like point out that this user is continually changing the same thing on Indianapolis City-County Council even after I explained why they are being reverted and gave them 2 warnings. I counted that they have reverted my edits 6 times (although not in violation of 3RR because they're spread out). Maybe a block would be sufficient? Thanks. HoosierState 20:06, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks anyway, GO GIANTS! I hate the Pats (cheaters) more than anything on this planet! Especially that pretty boy Brady. Haha, have a good Super Bowl. HoosierState 21:22, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
For the record, I am the person that has been changing his posts. I am Ed Coleman and I am one of the councilors on his list. Will you please explain to the young man that I corrected his list due to an error on his part. He feels that the At-Large councillors belong at the bottom when I know from the fact that I am one of them they belong on the top. If he doubts me he is more than welcom to go to the Indianapolis web page and view how the councillors are listed. Please explain to him that I am more than qualified to correct this certain post.Ecoleman56 (talk) 03:09, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Please explain to him that I am more than qualified to correct this certain post., is just not accepted on Misplaced Pages. Everyone is of equal editing. HoosierState 03:37, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Deletion of NFL Season Templates

Gonzo fan-

A user is submitting deletion requests for all of the templates that I created for the 1951 NFL seasons and before. I'd appreciate your help in defending their existence.

Thank you -- Fruminous (talk) 06:02, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

An update: I came to an accord with the nominator. I've placed them on all of your Packer pages (let's hear it for teams with long histories!) to keep things like this from happening again.

Fruminous (talk) 06:52, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey! -- Just saw that you have recently become an administrator. Congratulations! If I had known, I would have been happy to add my support!

Fruminous (talk) 06:55, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Another FL nom

Would you have any problem with me nom San Diego Chargers seasons? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bole2 (talkcontribs)

Thanks

Thanks for dealing with that obsessive vandal of mine. Bleah. =\ -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:54, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Re your message: Just a little. =) Sorry to drag you into it. Unfortunately, he will probably be back visiting you again. See Trenton, Ontario for the beginning of all of this. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:06, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Re your message: Yup, that's what it is. For awhile it was just me as the target, but now it's turned to people reverting my page, too. It keeps me amused. =) I take it that you're getting used to your extra tools? -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:54, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for semiprotecting Joan of Arc. Durova 02:40, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Protection of Alpaca?

Can you pleas eunprotect, a 2 week protection is hardly warranted for one to two instances of vandalism a day. Viridae 05:19, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

San Francisco protection

I looked at the few days before the recent incident, and decided that some protection was warranted. I will shorten my protection to five days. Is that acceptable to you? Acalamari 03:14, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Done. :) I'd give some more help at RFPP, but I'm on dial-up at the moment, and protections are slow to perform. :( Good work there! Acalamari 03:21, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Zwuh?

Respected? Moi? I'm rarely on the positive end of those sort of inferences. :) Jmlk17 09:22, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for unprotecting the Death Heart article. I just noticed in the history that you had done it. Appreciated! - Dicecollector29 (talk) 17:09, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Gracias!

Thanks for blocking my favorite returning profane IP vandal. I don't even remember why he hates me so, but I appreciate you getting him off our backs for a little while. Thanks! Snowfire51 (talk) 06:28, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

No problems on the email, I figured you were busy. I took it to AIV for other opinions and decided it wasn't worth arguing about. Take care! Snowfire51 (talk) 06:42, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

ITN

It is disappointing that somebody who has been given admin rights would use those priviledges to change a page without reference to the expected syntax for that page. Kevin McE (talk) 07:11, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

User talk:Douglasfgrego

I think you should reconsider your request on WP:RFPP and delete the page per m:right to vanish. Stifle (talk) 12:30, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

I have seen this user abuse the unblock template, go around his block by using an IP to edit, and he has already had a right to vanish request and came back 3 days later. The community is only so giving to such people. The right to vanish is granted to users in good standing, and he certainly isnt. That said, I wouldnt be opposed to leaving him a message stating that if he leaves that his user page will be deleted and his talk page will be courtesy blanked, but I would be very against deleting the talk page, especially since this user seems to be a sockmaster and it would hurt the project to delete that talk page. Cheers! – Gonzo fan2007 18:40, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
That would seem to accomplish what we're trying to do along with what he wants. Stifle (talk) 18:56, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Please cancel an edit violating The 3RR

  1. Some days ago, an editor made this edit.
  2. On 23 February, at 5:15, the same editor has made his first revert.
  3. On the same day, at 22:23, the same editor made his second revert.
  4. On that very day, at 22:57, the same editor made his third revert.
  5. On the same day, at 23:26, the same editor made his fourth revert.

Please cancel his fourth revert - which violates 3RR. No need to warn him, because I'm sure it was not done on purpose! He's an honest person who is absolutely aware to the 3RR and has always obeyed the 3RR. Eliko (talk) 02:22, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

List of ethnic slurs

Appologies for th trouble w/ speedy deletion - It was indeed my intent to nominate that page for speedy deletion (did not think it failed to meet the requirements, sorry) - i simply could not place the tag on that page as i lack an account and the page is semi protected. I figured the best place to place the note then would be in candidates for speedy deletion - as i wanted to make it a canditate for speedy deletion. What is the proper way for nominating an article for anything (deletion, speedy deletion, revision, featured ,etc.) - if it is protected or semi protected? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.197.0.220 (talk) 04:56, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Re: Packers template

I'm aware of that. It's only because a separate category for NFL templates has yet to be created (NFL List category hasn't either). But there's probably hundreds of templates out there I've tagged with the Template category, so for uniformity (when a separate category is created), I'd like all NFL templates to be classed as that. Pats1 /C 12:51, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Feel free to create a template category as well (I've been meaning to for a year now). Pats1 /C 16:06, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank's for the revert on my userpage! J.delanoyadds 20:05, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Packer Project Page

I love the new Packer subproject page. I'm so happy to see so many people "borrowing" my layout for the MCB project! :) Have you considered going with a dark green on the title bars? It'll go well with the yellow you're using for the background, I think. – ClockworkSoul 23:06, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Glad I could help! I put a lot of work into cleaning up the WP:MCB page, and I'm thrilled that it's serving as a guide for other projects. I always thought the official colors were hunter green, gold, and white, though? – ClockworkSoul 23:52, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Our own Green Bay Packers article mentions that "In 1959, new head coach Vince Lombardi changed the colors to the current hunter green and gold". :) I experimented with page previews, and I think the title bars look (on screen, at least) quite nice with hex value #355E3B. Your call though. :) Cheers! – ClockworkSoul 00:08, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Ah, yes. I did make the rookie mistake of citing Misplaced Pages, didn't I? Point well taken, sir! – ClockworkSoul 00:15, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
