Temporary full protection - The article has been undergoing an edit war over how to refer to the church Obama attends for over a week and another edit war over whether or not it should be included in that article that according to the National Journal Barack Obama was the "Most Liberal" member of the Senate in 2007 for the last two days and while there have been a few comments on the talk page in regards to the matters, they are generally accompanied by a reversion back to the user's preferred wording. Semi-Protect - Plenty of ip vandalism; lately someone's been using a proxy to spam the page to 700,000+ bytes in size with comments such as "this is gay" then signing their comments with someone elses tag. • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
• Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.

Unprotection, Hi. The editor that protected the Jimmy Wales article has also protected the Jimmy Wales and Rachel Marsden talk pages. I don't believe it should be protected. I've started a discussion with the person that protected the page here if it's of any help to read it. Could some of you administrators have a look at the talk page histories and see if they really need to be protected. I haven't looked in detail at the Rachel Marsden one but I have at the Jimmy Wales talk history and I don't think it does. The Protection Policy says "Article discussion pages subject to persistent disruption. Such protection should be used sparingly as it prevents anonymous and newly registered users participating in discussions." If one or two people are persistently being disruptive they should be dealt with individually, rather than the entire discussion closed off from recent and anonymous users. Also, for selfish reasons I'd like it unprotected as I can't participate in the discussion. That's not the primary reason though, I really do think anyone should be able to contribute. Thanks. Current requests for significant edits to a protected page

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

• Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
• Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
• Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
• If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.

Instead of blocking the editor who made 6 reverts the article was protected. I should not waste my time making a 3RR report again. The article is under probation. The probation has failed.
