A Roads

Hi, I just wanted to know why you think the A roads you deleted are not notable. Please see the notability guidelines in Misplaced Pages:Notability. There are many published sources covering these A roads from mapping web sites like Google Maps and Multimap. In addition they are shown in all UK motoring atlases and local maps like the A-Z publications. These are all independent sources and are reliable. If you disagree, I am happy to seek the opinions on other editors on this. Rawclaw (talk) 18:11, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Actually, notability guidelines for roads aren't fully fleshed out yet. You might like to contribute to the discussion at: Misplaced Pages talk:Notability (Transportation), though so far, it looks like road types like A-roads are deemed inherently notable. Rawclaw (talk) 12:06, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Please stop effectively deleting articles by converting them to redirects. There is a long-standing consensus that all GB A-roads are notable. Saga City (talk) 12:28, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your comments on Talk:A4018 road. It's an interesting theory that if a subject does not call for a long article it indicates that it does not merit one at all, but I don't think that many editors would agree with you. If that's what you really think, then I suggest that you repropose the article for deletion, and also debate your views on notability at Misplaced Pages talk:Notability (Transportation), as suggested above. I hope that you will feel able to abide by the consensus. Mhockey (talk) 13:50, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
